1/ Select line 80 by clicking on the gutter in front of is
2/ Scroll to line 500
3/ Shift+click on the gutter in front of it. Range is selected.

The line number margin, which I assume you have displayed, is an equivalent
place to click.

N++ does not support a style of marking which had its uses: mark 1st corner,
mark second corner to select, choose operation. Vim has that.

On page "ANSI and Unicode versions of Notepad++" the link to the header file
is still broken!

Two additional questions if I may:

 * In exchanged text buffers with Scintilla (for example, SCI_GETTEXT) are
characters
encoded as multi-byte UTF-8?
 * On page "How to develop a plugin or a lexer", the sample project
'NppInsertPlugin'
is already unicode or still ANSI?

Thank you.

/gg

There are easier ways:
1/ Disable session remembering, and drag your project folder onto NP++ shortcu.
This will work if the folder don't have binary files in them.
2/ When moving, edit your session file, Replace All old path with new path,
save session file under some other name than session.xml. Whn you close NP++,
then rename that file if you wish.

Perhaps one could add a "Find base folder for all open file" checkbox to the
session management preferences. If checked, NP++ would store this information,
plus the relative file paths to that base, instead of raw absolute paths. Try
it on IdeaTorrent?

There is an idea about large file support on IdeaTorrent. One of the solution
is to support editing of windowed files, ie just load a setion. You may want
to support that. I never saw source files 10Mb or more in size, apart from
unreasonable disassembly listings, but log files routinely do, and one hardly
ever uses the whole o a log file.

Is there a hotkey (or second best a menu item) to delete the whole current
line?

Hi, Thomas:

You can map the Scintilla command SCI_LINEDELETE to whichever key combination
you want.

Just go to Settings-->Shortcut Mapper-->Scintilla commands (rightmost button)
Near the botton (90th item in my case) you wil find the SCI_LINEDELETE command.
Doing double-click over the "Shortcut" field (rightmost column) will open the
menu for mapping the shortcut.

Regards

Jos? E

I am getting a script executed via NppExec,. In the console window the message
"Process started >>>" appears but then nothing. There is no output from my
script commands being shown.

Any advice?

The name of what I've been looking for is GNU formatting. That appears to be
what Emacs uses. ANSI formatting is nearly identical, but slightly better I
think. Code::Blocks comes with a plug in called AStyle. I bound it to a keyboard
command. When I hit it, it formats my code in whatever style I choose (ANSI,
K&R, Linux, GNU, Java, Custom). It would be nice if it could format the line
I'm on as I'm typing, since this method doesn't allow any part of the file I'm
working on to deviate, but it still works great.

I looked briefly for an AStyle plug in for Notepad++, but could not find one.
Does Notepad++ have anything like this?
