Here's a compiled one of the current state:
http://www.file-upload.net/download-1730141/NppExec_TABextender_UNICODE.7z.html

Pls, if anybody with higher windows console experience could have a try ?
Because I don't know whether I missed something.. regarding 'path-browsing' via
TAB key I mean !

What I've added so far (to the TAB key functionality):
-if files are found (in the target's dir), then it loops through them
-if nothing found, the old TAB functionality gets fired (auto-complete,
history)
-if 'CD' command in front, then loops only DIRs of course
-you can move to any position with mouse or cursor keys and TAB again - it won't
delete
the rest of a long commandline, like the windows console does ;)

Watch out and compare to special cases of the windows console:
file-/directorynames
starting with a '.' !
For instance if you got 3 directories: '.SomeDir', 'SomeDir' and 'SomeDir2'
Then you type 'So' and hit TAB. The directory starting with a '.' comes up too
!
I saw that only _accidently_ in the windows console. Does anybody know other
special behaviour like this ??!

Would be great if someone could test it out :)

This clears all my search results MANUALLY!

But I want an AUTOMATIC clearing!
So whenever I enter a new find command
all previous serach reuslts should be AUTOMATICALLY (=without explicite "clear
all") wiped.

So again: Is there such a function?

Hi everyone!

I like Notepad++ very much but i don't know how to set:
1 auto closing (like brackets) of quotes " and ' and highlighting matches pairs
2 auto completion and auto closing of HTML-tags in files with different to
.html,
htm extensions
3 displaying BOM in files that has it
4 utf-8 in new files, no utf-8 as ascii (n++ saves utf-8 files without diacritic
sings as ascii)
5 simultaneously auto completion and auto closing for PHP, HTML, JS in one file
6 viewing and editing CSV files by columns and by rows

Pleas help me. I checked FAQ and manual but i couldn't find solutions.
Especially
i need auto closing of quotes and HTML-tags in files without html and htm
extensions.

BTW how could i install HTML, CSS and PHP list of tags and functions with short
descriptions and how could i use TIDY or different validator for HTML and CSS.

Maybe you know some useful n++ plugins for web develop, then pleas, link it.

best wishes

"Windowed" editing could be implemented without Scintilla changes, but it would
take a decent amount of code, and would break most syntax highlighting.

I don't understand why people don't just use another editor when dealing with
huge files - Notepad++'s goal is being a source code editor :)

I could use a little help here as well I have a list of IP's that I need to
change the last octet from a number to a * but some of the ip's are listed in
this manner here is a snippet

110.37.52.10771
114.169.245.134
114.170.152.144
114.44.138.1560
114.44.17.96585
115.108.112.139
115.113.17.5072
115.118.193.995
115.118.97.2078
115.186.104.170
115.186.6.13164
115.186.69.9416
115.186.72.2515
115.80.67.46135

You can see the last octet is not of a stand 0-255 length. I need to search
and replace my whole list of 5000+ ip's
Could you post the exact search and replace string for this I tried all the
different combos listed above and I must be missing something I Hope that this
makes sense

Find field:
^(\d+\.\d+\.\d+\.)\d\d\d\d+$

^ _______ Search from/for the start of a line
\d+ _____ Search for a string of digits (at least one)
\. ______ A(n absolute) dot

() ______ Grouped expression that can be use in Replace

\d\d\d\d+ Search for a string of at least 4 digits
$ _______ Search for the end of a line

Use ^ and $ if the ISP number is the _only_ text on the lines.

5000+ means at least 4 digits, which is always more than the maximum 3 used
for numbers 0 - 255.

Replace field:
\1*

\1 ______ Re-place the first grouped expression
* _______ Place the asterisk instead of the 5000+ number

If you need to replace _all_ last octets, use \d+ instead of \d\d\d\d+ here
also. I (may) have misread your message.
