2. Type in your search term
3. Click "Find all in current file"

Ever since I've updated to the latest notepad++ I have been experiencing random
crashes on several machines. Sometimes it happens when i copy and paste,
sometimes
I'll have it minimized, bring it back up and it is locked up, and today it did
it while I was refreshing a page with a google map in it.. which was really
weird. Then I have to do the ctl+alt+del dance and kill it. I can't seem to
find anything specific I am doing to make this happen and have been watching
very closely for weeks now. Once again as i said this is happening on several
different machines all with Windows XP on them, there is definitely a bug there
and it seems to be some sort of random memory leak.

Hi,

I need to parse log files on a regular basis. To me this means searching
for certain words to find the lines that I need. I'm only interested in
those lines so it would be great to do a search and with every match, have
the complete line copied to a new file. Not every match in a new file but
all matches together in 1 new file. With regular expressions I can match
the whole line but the copy process is still missing.

Thanks
Kind Regards
Sven

Did you try applying the procedures described
in http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Crashes
? Chances are that a plugin is misbehaving regrdless of what you are doing.

When a crash takes place, Notepad++ normally suggests creating a NppDump.dmp
file. If you get the option, accept, and (7)zip it to donho. Both action courses
will help (a plugin may be misbehaving because of a bug of its own or because
it exposes a bug elsewhere)

CChris

I'd like to request that a menu command for sorting tabs by name be added.

I downloaded NP 5.4.5, the exe installer, and the FunctionList Unicode
installer,
and FunctionList is not working. I placed the dll in the plugins folder, and
the other 2 function list files in the plugins/Config folder. When the function
list is turned on it only says, "No Rules Defined". I tried moving the rules
file around to different places but couldn't get it to work. Please help.

I downloaded NP 5.4.5, the exe installer, and the UniversalIndentGUI plugin
, and the plugin is not working. When NPP boots it says that the plugin is
ANSI and not compatible with the Unicode version of NPP. It seems there are
files the in plugin zip for UNI and for ANSI, but I tried both, but got SIMILAR
problems; when using the ANSI file it says incompatible, when using the UNI
file it says can't find QTxxx.dll, but when I move the QT files into the plugins
directory it says ANSI - UNI incompatibility. This may be a problem with where
I'm placing files, this plugin is not simple like the others, there are several
files. Please help.

Sam,
Have a read of this thread, on the UniversalIndentGUI forum
- http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=3331298&forum_id=571437

I had the same problem, and asked where all the files go. I've actually still
not managed to get it to work, but haven't had chance to go back to them and
sort out the problem.

If you manage to get it to work, please come back here and let everyone know
how you got it working - I can add it to the Plugin Manager then, so it can
be installed automatically.

Thanks,
Dave

This seems to happen if the rules files are not added to the Config directory
the first time the plugin is run. It creates a file with a .xml! or some such
strange extension, I can't remember exactly. The trick is simply to remove
all the files FunctionListRules.* and C++.* from the config directory. It's
worth checking your %APPDATA%\Notepad++\plugins\config directory too - it could
be that that is your plugin config directory.

Once you've removed these files, I'd recommend installing the functionlist
plugin
from the plugin manager, as that will get put everything in the right place
for you.

Dave.
