I'm using NP++ 5.4.5, Windows Xp SP3 and 7-Zip 4.65.
I've replaced Windows Notepad with NP++ following official instructions.
Everything works fine, but if I try to open a txt file from within 7-Zip File
Manager (doubleclicking the txt file) NP++ opens with a blank file (new 1).
To reproduce just open a compressed file containing a txt with 7-Zip and
doubleclick
the txt.
It shouldn't be a 7-Zip's problem as soon as it worked fine with windows
notepad.

Ask for it on IdeaTorrent. Many software that deal with groups of files have
Yes to All / No to All, thes would be seful additions to the standard dialogs.

However, if you use the "Edit with Notepad++" context menu entry, it does work.
If you need to get the same behaviour with a plain double click, you must
associate
your extension with Notepad++ in Explorer or whatever association manager you
have.

Does changing the behaviour of the open/save directory help? I'm sure the
problem
is that Notepad++ looks for the file in a folder it is not in, because its
behaviour
may differ from Notepad in this respect.

That's just it; I do not wish to open the Notepad++ session file for editing.

As it is now I launch Notepad++ and go to File > Load Session... and then select
a previously saved Notepad++ session. I am looking for a way to have this
function
performed automatically when double-clicking on a saved Notepad++ session file.

@lespea: Thank you very much!!!

I tried: perl -pe "s/^((?:[^;]*;){7}[^;]*);/\1/;" {your filename goes here},
but it doesn't work.

I think the right syntax is: perl -pe "s/^((?:[^;]*;){7}[^;]*);/\1/; {your
filename
goes here}" ... but I'm trying and no result in return for the moment!?

Note: I installed Perl and execute your script like this:

C:\Perl\bin>perl -pe "s/^((?:[^;]*;){7}[^;]*);/\1/; {my_file.csv}"

"my_file.csv" is of course in "C:\Perl\bin" ... at the beginning I thought the
problem was the path "C:\Temp\my_file.csv" so I put the file directly in the
same directory than "perl.exe".

@cchris: Thanks too! ;)

1/ define an extension for default files in Settings -> Preferences -> MISC
. Let's assume you use "nps++"

Now open a .nps++ file with Notepad++, and it will do just that. Next you can
associate .nps++ files with Notepad++, and then simply licking on the file will
load Notepad++ with the files in the session.

CChris

I've read through the examples on the "Regular Expressions" wiki page, but I
can't fathom what it would take to accomplish my specific need.

I'll throw up a screen capture so you can follow along much easier:
http://yfrog.com/4rcapturehlj

See the gray highlighted area? I need to repeatedly delete those sections
throughout
the entire document, while being careful not to remove anything highlighted
yellow. I'm familiar with how to add different search parameters using ( ) ^
\1-9, etc., but I'm at a loss as to how I would handle this particular project.

Any geniuses on this forum?
