The Conferences started in 1973 and take place every two years. The main idea of these Conferences is still actual - to provide a form for presentation and discussion of new ideas associated with the theoretical background and applications of computational mechanics. IMPORTANT DATES: 20 November 2002 - deadline for submission of two-page abstracts 15 January 2003 - notification on acceptance of papers 28 February 2003 - deadline for submission of papers 28 February 2003 - payment of registration fee 3 June 2003 - beginning of the Conference REGISTRATION FEE: 200 EURO The registration fees cover: book of abstracts, proceedings on CD-ROM, participation in all scientific sessions, lunches, coffee breaks, welcome reception and banquet. The cost of accommodation is approximately 15-60 Euro per night. The details about the fees, accommodation costs, and social program will be provided in the Second Announcement. ABSTRACTS: Authors are invited to submit two-page (A4) abstracts by e-mail (c...@polsl.gliwice.pl) or by post to the conference address. The abstracts should state concisely the purposes, methods, results and conclusions of the work with supporting figures and references as appropriate. All summaries must include names, affiliations, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of all authors. Keywords (five maximum) are required. PLACE OF THE CONFERENCE: The Conference will take place in the Beskidy Mountains. We hope that the beautiful landscape of the Beskidy Mountains will add attraction to the Conference. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME: The scientific programme will include plenary lectures delivered during the opening and closing sessions, several keynote lectures, ordinary presentations during regular sessions and poster sessions.
