Dear Colleague,
This e-mail is an invitation to participate in a worldwide survey on the
use of finite element (and related) technology. The survey is being
carried out by FENET (www.fe-net.org), which is a network of various
organisations with the common objective of improving both the quality of
industrial applications of finite element technology and the level of
confidence that can be placed in the computed results. The network is
engaged in a range of activities aimed at facilitating the effective
exchange of experience and knowledge amongst the different industrial
sectors. This questionnaire is an attempt to obtain an overview of the
current finite element scene throughout the world. In addition to
seeking the views of industrial users, the views of software vendors and
academia are also being sought.
The results of the questionnaire will be made available to all
respondents. In addition to documenting current state of practice, by
industry sector, it is anticipated that the results will provide the
basis for other useful business benefits, including
7 Input to technical strategies and roadmaps;
7 A focus for identifying potential areas of competitive advantage;
7 Identification of areas for possible code development;
7 Identification of differences in awareness and use of technology
across sectors;
As a small token of our appreciation in helping us gather this
information, on completion of the questionnaire, we will provide you
with a free download of the NAFEMS document "How to Integrate CAD and
FE". The link to this will be forwarded to you when the questionnaire is
complete, and the results are available.
Please feel free to forward this e-mail to any of your colleagues who
may also be interested in completing the questionnaire.
