Jacques Le Roux commented on OFBIZ-5704:

Hi,

While cleaning things, I stumbled upon this again. Since nothing happened for
years and nobody seems to have problems with that, here is my new proposition,
few things before:
* Pierre's patch no longer applies, fortunately it's easy to do by hand
* I missed to look at Pierre's attached image. I compared to what we have in
trunk and I see no way there to look at "Lot Usage". So it seems this was only
for Pierre's customised usage and no UI was provided with. That's why related
unused labels (like LotUsageReport) have been removed since with this commit*

I agree that it could be more than inconvenient to have to OOTB change the
"Lot" entity data model later if we need to have several parties, with
different roles, related to a lot. So I close here as Information provided.
Anyone can reopen if needed.

> Rationale
> Lot or batch management affects two places, namely the outbound process (and
> its functionalities) and inbound.
> It is possible that multiple parties have the same ID for the batch or the
> lot. Howver, in current feature set there is no discrimination between lots
> from supplier A, supplier B, or even the primary (internal) company in OFBiz.
> Therefore the entity 'Lot' should be extended with another key, namely that
> of the partyId of the manufacturer (or supplier).

Jacques Le Roux commented on OFBIZ-5704:

Maybe irelevant (Pierre simply suggest to add a partyId field to the Lot
Entity) but worth nothing: there is a mention of the manufacturerPartyId field
in one of Scott's comment. Note that a such named field has been completely
removed with OFBIZ-9368.
