Any idea what the proper kernel version would be. Opensuse is always behind.

GP106 is supported, you must be using an older kernel (since yours
says "unknown chipset"). Note that mobile chips, esp GP10x's, appear
to have a ton of issues with runtime pm, so YMMV.

driver is being used, but am not sure. I it Intel or Nouveau? When I
boot the
