Lord I can't stand the pain! Please let me love again. I wrote this for Prince as he has always been a inspiration to me when it came to writing my intimate poems. Yet the subject of this poem was a young man I met in Germany, who was in the military. He was there for R&R. We use to write poetry together. He was sent to Viet Nam, and was there for only 3 days before he was killed. He was my soulmate, that was in 70. It took me until 82 to really love anyone else. So my poem is about a lost love.
