[NPSO]: NPSO Leadership

2008-09-08 Thread Caroline Moore
I am writing to inform you of important changes taking place with the
National Post School Outcomes Center. Mike Bullis, Director of the Center
since it was funded in 2004, is assuming the permanent position of Dean of
the College of Education, University of Oregon. Most of you are aware that
Mike has been serving as Dean and NPSO Director. Recently, he was selected
from a group of elite individuals to serve as our Dean. Although Mike ably
juggled both jobs for 3 years, he needs to fully devote himself to the Dean
position and has understandably made the difficult decision to step down as
Director of the NPSO ‹ we are pleased that he will remain actively engaged
as a member of the Advisory Committee, however, so his influence will still
be strongly maintained.

I am pleased to announce our intent to reorganize with Deanne Unruh as the
Director of the Center, pending the University of Oregon¹s approval. Deanne
has served the project since its inception as the Knowledge Development
Specialist and has extensive experience with project management, as well as
research on high risk adolescents and students with disabilities that are
the focus of the NPSO. The NPSO¹s project officer, Selete Avoke, has
approved this change. The NPSO team is committed to ensure that the
leadership you have become accustomed to will continue.

On behalf of Deanne, Jane and the rest of the NPSO staff, I want to thank
you all for your continuing support and efforts to improve post-school
outcomes for youth with disabilities.
