Hi all,
, can anyone please tell me how to compile these fileswhich do not seem
to have a main function? I am working on MIP and want to make some
modifications in the protocol. I can't seem to run these files mip.h ,
mip.cc and mip-reg.cc . I believe these are executed when the main (tcl)

Hi all,
I have made a simulation of MIP depicting the following scenario,
1x MN, 1x HA, 2 x FAs and off course two wired nodes. The MN moves from HA
to the two FAs and handoffs twice. I have plotted the performance parameters
on a graph and observed that during handoff there is sharp decr
Hi,
I am kind of lost in reading these trace files. While I understand that
Hs aqnd Hd stand for next hop source and destination ID. But Is and Id
shows numbers like 4194304 and 4194035, and it means source (and
destination) address and port number respectively, but how does it
translate to th
Hi,
I just ran MArc Gries' wireless3.tcl file simulationg MIP. I am confused
about the trace files, The FA node ID is 3 and MH ID is 4, but I do not see
any message being sent by 3 to 4 as advertisement and also no message is
being received by 3 from 4. If I understand it correctly the adverti
Hi,
I successfully ran an MIP simulation but get following warnings
MAC_802_11: accessing MAC cache_ array out of range (src 3, dst 0, size 3)! {I
get this warning atleast 10 times}
[suppressing additional MAC cache_ warnings]
warning: Route to base_stn not known: dropping pkt {I guess this i
Hi,
I just ran a MIP simulation, I have created two FAs and a HA. The MH
handoffs between HA and FA1 and then between FA1 and FA2. How can I create
overlapping FAs for studying handoffs? Is there any other way to this? I
mean I tried moving the FA2 closer to FA1 but what are the max/min limits
Hi,
I ran the script in Mar Gries' tutorial wireless3.tcl which deals with
Mobile IP, the question is how are the base station (i.e HA and FA in this
case) boundaries specified? I mean at what point does the MH get FA's
beacon signals? Moreover, if I create another FA and make the node move

Hi,
I just sucessfully ran wireless.tcl file but am finding it difficult to
read trace files. I mean when I open wireleee.tr the info is kind of
cryptic. What do these different fields denote? Any ideas how to read it?
Thanks in advance,
Best,
Nauman
Hi,
I have just started following Marc Grier's tutorial and have tried a few
of the simulation exercises that he suggests. Is C++ for Linux different
than C++ for windows, I have some knowledge of C++ in windows but when I run
the same files in Linux using G++ and gedit (editor) it gives me er

Hi,

absolutely know nothing about tcl. I have recently installed ns2. I am
working on my thesis and have to simulate MIPv4 handoffs, I would appreciate
any help in this regard, for starters. Please do help out, many thanks
Hi,
I am totally new to ns2, I have to simulate handoffs in standard mobile
IPv4, suggest a better solution and then off course simulate the proposed
solution. Is it possible to do all this in ns2? I am totally new so any help
in this reagrd would be welcome, many thanks,
best,
Nauman
