[ns] Diffserv: No. of physical queues

2006-10-18 Thread Vindya Amaradasa

Hi,

I want to increase MAX_QUEUES in Diffserv. When I increase the value of the
constant MAX_QUEUES in dsred.h, it compiles fine but gives me segmentation
fault at run time. Why would this be?

Is there anything else I have to change?

Thank you very much!

Re: [ns] Floating point exception error

2006-10-18 Thread Vindya Amaradasa

This error can be caused by 'division by zero'. Have a look through your
code for any possible divisions by zero (consider worst cases).

Hope it helps!

Re: [ns] Problem with .o files

2006-08-09 Thread Vindya Amaradasa

Hi,

When you run ./configure, your makefile gets altered. That's why your line
'disappeard'! And as a result, file.o was not created, hence the 'invalid
command' error.
(you only need to run ./configure if you're compiling for the very first
time)

So, once you add the tcp/file.o \line, just run make. If it's
successfull, it'll create file.o (you can check this)

Then you shouldn't get the error when running your tcl script.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [ns] Problem with .o files

 Hi all,

I have file.cc and file.h and I put that in for example ~/tcp/file.cc and
 ~/tcp/file.h.

Now I make neccesary modifications and among other things in OBJ_CC
section on Makefile I have put this
 .
 tcp/file.o \
 ..

When I do ./configure and make and make install I do not have
 file.o under path where I put file.cc and file.h.

In futher, I open Makefile after congifure, make and make install
procedure and there is no line I put - the line I mentioned above
 tcp/file.o \

How can disapear a coplete line from Makefile ?

 Am I missing something here?

When I try to start ns on prompt I have something like this:

 machine:/mypath/# ns
 ns:
 [code omitted because of length]
 : invalid command name Agent/TCP/WestwoodNR
while executing
 Agent/TCP/WestwoodNR set current_bwe_ 0
 machine:/mypath/# ns

 Thank you.

[ns] WFQ: Change deque time

2006-05-08 Thread Vindya Amaradasa

Hi,

I want to manipulate the deque time of certain packets.

I tried changing the value of 'tmp' in scheduleWFQ(), which is equivalent to
'Next(t) - t' in GPS Approach to flow...:single node case Parekh e
Gallager, where Next(t) represents the real time of the next departure.

However, changing tmp only seems to change the time at which
WFQHandler::handle is invoked, but not the time QueueHandler::handle is
invoked. And this results in WFQ::deque() still being called at the original
time (i.e. not considering my altered 'tmp' value).

So far I haven't been able to figure out how the QueueHandler::handle
scheduled time is determined. I think this is what I need to change in order
to change the time which WFQ::deque is invoked a packet is dequeued.

I've consulted the NS manual mailing list archives but haven't been able
to find the answer so far. I'd greatly appreciate if anyone can give a
pointer as to how to change the scheduled time for WFQ::deque.

BTW I'm using wfq-1.2.2.

Many thanks!
Vindya

Hello Tanaka

Cygwin recreates a linux like directory tree (/, /bin, /etc, ...)
located in the directory where cygwin is installed (typically
c:/cygwin). From cygwin you can only access the files located in this
directory. For example to go to the directory c:/cygwin/ns-allinone-2.27
you should use the command: cd /ns-allinone-2.27

Would you mind if you show and teach me how to install ns-2?
