[ns] can NS2 file be given as input to matlab or vice versa

hi        i m trying to find the energy efficient path for multicast routing using genetic algorithm.I thought of simulating the network using NS2 and apply genetic algorithm using the GA tool available in matlab. so i need to integrate both, is this possible??? Valli
