Depending what you want:

You should use a generic utilities like: grep, awk, join, ...

To filter columns of the out.tr, you can use the 'column' program, that 
you can found in the ns-2 website.

Maybe, you can use your own Perl programs, and finally, you can use 
'tracegraph' for ns-2.
