in order to install nist module on ns2.29, I start by installing ubuntu
8.04.

It seems like a DNS error. So I wonder what simple.tcl contains. You
may try other scripts to verify your ns2 installation.

1) run
# sudo apt-get install build-essential
# sudo apt-get install tcl8.4 tcl8.4-dev tk8.4 tk8.4-dev
# sudo apt-get install libxmu-dev libxmu-headers
2) ./install
3) in ./bashrc file i add:
export PATH="$PATH:/home/wei/ns-allinone
