I don't know if they'll mention it, but wonder if the famous story about his untimely demise due to overzealous bashing stick on floor to keep time (resulting gangrenous foot injury killed him) may account for the inegale-ity - If he was writing dance music 'twixt injury and death, his step would have hardly been egale...
