[NSP] Re: Dots for tune - Our Kate
I now have several copies in two different keys and am getting them checked by the composer. Thanks, one and all. Julia To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html

Stupidly, I assumed that because it is still in copyright (obviously) it would not be on such sites. I'll hijack it from there and get it checked. I thought I had it, but it must be on a piece of paper buried somewhere in my filing "system". The composer herself doesn't have ready access to a copy - I'm sure someone must have written it out for themselves or others. I'd be grateful for a copy if anyone has one, pdf, jpg, abc, whatever (can't read Sibelius or Noteworthy files, sorry). Then I can get it checked. [NSP] Re: Dots for Highland Cathedral
Thanks to those who responded. I now have two copies - one in G/D, the other D/A. I am also told it's copyright. I also have valuable suggestions as to why this shouldn't be played on nsp, and as I concur with at least one of them, this explains why I didn't have the dots in the first place. Cheers, and thanks Julia To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html

Thanks for all the enlightenment as to the origin of the tunes I inquired about. This leads me to ask whether a book exists on the Northumbrian muscial tradition (not just the nsp) that will help me gain a better undestanding of how we have the tunes we have? Coilsfield House was written by Nathaniel Gow, one of a family of distinguished Scottish fiddlers in the late C18 / early C19 period. They are part of what I refer to the Eastern Scottish fiddle tradition, which has links all up and down the East coast, and so, in my mind, is more closely related to some Northumbrian music than the Western (Highland or Celtic ) Scottish fiddle dialects.
