There are usually two reasons for this "error": * the cached directory is empty - caused by icons pack uninstall removing files but leaving directory in place *directory is not empty but the icons are not in subfolders named WIDTHxHEIGHT (icon dimensions). Thank you for using SBackup and for taking the time reporting this bug. In order to track down the cause of the problem some more information are required. Please answer the following questions: * what distribution do you use? * what version of sbackup is installed; from where was it installed (PPA, from source)? * Is the bug reproducible; does it happen every time? * do you run sbackup as superuser (root) or as regular user? * Do backups work in general for you? * Do manual backups (started from Configuration GUI) work as expected? * are you able to open your backup destination using Nautilus/command line? * How do you invoke the backup process? Question #129095 on Simple Backup changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/sbackup/+question/129095 Status: Open => Answered Jean-Peer Lorenz proposed the following answer: Thanks for using SBackup. Beginning with sbackup 0.11.x the naming scheme was changed. It is now more consistent and intuitive. sbackupd was renamed since it's actually not a system deamon: 'sbackup' - the backup programm (was 'sbackupd') 'sbackup-config-gtk' - configuration gui written in GTK+ 'sbackup-restore-gtk' - restoration and snapshot handling (delete, upgrade) written in GTK+ HTH, Jean-Peer. P.S.: You can define/set up a cron job using the configuration gui (when running as root). [Nssbackup-team] [Bug 659020] Re: Cannot install upgrade or remove sbackup-gtk after upgrading to maverick
I'm having problems with sbackup as well after upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10. In 10.04 you could launch it from the Administration menu and it required sudo access. Now in 10.10 it is launched from the Accessories menu and is not found in the Administration menu. When you launch it from the Accessories menu in 10.10 it does not remember the configuration you had in 10.04, instead loading a default profile and asking for you to save your configuration. However, the backup still runs using the configuration you had in 10.04. I tried copying the configuration file from the version in 10.04 (located in 'etc') to the new version in 10.10 (located in 'home/userid/.config') but then a permission denied error comes up. Also, I can't restore using the new 10.10 version when pointing to the existing backup files created by the 10.04 version, as it does not have permission to the directory I used to store the backup files. Basically, I've got the version that requires sudo access running in the background properly as it did in 10.04, but I can't access it via the gui. I'd be happy reconfiguring and using the user version accessible in the gui, but I'm afraid it will conflict with the sudo version already running. -- Cannot install upgrade or remove sbackup-gtk after upgrading to maverick https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659020 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Simple Backup Maintainers, which is subscribed to sbackup in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team Post to : nssbackup-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
