(ns)sbackup does not purge incremental backups (in the latest version) is not totally right: logarithmic purge works in SBackup 0.11+, however the fix is not yet ported to nssbackup 0.3 (and I'm not sure it ever will). See bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/nssbackup/+bug/587911 to track progress
