[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 648754] Re: Can't mount ftp location

2010-09-29 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
Thank you for using SBackup and reporting this issue.

In order to track down the cause of the problem some more information
are required. Please answer the following questions:

* what distribution do you use?
* what version of sbackup is installed; from where was it installed (PPA, from
source)?
* Is the bug reproducible; does it happen every time?
* do you run sbackup as superuser (root) or as regular user?
* are you able to open your backup destination using Nautilus?
* do you have these packages installed: gvfs, gvfs-fuse, gvfs-backends?

Thanks for your help.

From the ubuntu repository: version 0.11.2

Yes, it happens all the time.
 * do you run sbackup as superuser (root) or as regular user?
The bug occurs in both cases.
 * are you able to open your backup destination using Nautilus?
Yes, I can connect and write files to the destination. There were no
changes to the server and I had no problems using the previous version
of the sbackup.
 * do you have these packages installed: gvfs, gvfs-fuse, gvfs-backends?
Yes, these packages are installed, also from the ubuntu repository
 Thanks for your help.

[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 248652] Re: RegExp (to exclude files) seems incomplete

2010-09-29 Thread ingo
I wonder why it is closed now:

1. it was marked 'incomplete' why? The required answer (poste
configuration line regexp=..) was given the same day the bug was opened.
IMHO the next step would have been to triage the bug, isn't it?

2. setting it now to invalid isn't a solution, I'd expect it to be
triaged or fixed. So I put it back to confirmed.

Ubuntu 10.04 with http://ppa.launchpad.net/nssbackup-team/ppa/ubuntu lucid

Simple Backup Suite 0.11.2
 * Is the bug reproducible; does it happen every time?

Only tried it once. Haven't been game to push a friendship.
 * is your backup destination on a local drive or remote?

It is a local 1.5Gb slave drive using ext4

 * do you run sbackup as superuser (root) or as regular user?

Always superuser. I know because it always creates files that I cannot
delete with my normal login.
 * are you able to open your backup destination using Nautilus/command line?

Yes.
 * Were you able to delete the snapshot in question in later tries?

Yes.
 * Are you able to delete other snapshots?

Yes.
 * Do backups work for you?

Yes--at least I think so. It is hard to test when you have very large
files as I do.

[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 648754] Re: Can't mount ftp location

2010-09-29 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
Hum, it works for me most of the time. Occasionally it fails but it's
gio/gvfs related then (I experience quite a lot of crashes of gvfs-
daemon and Nautilus when using FTP paths in Maverick, mounting in
general is not possible etc.). So far, sbackup works as expected.

Could you please have a look at LP Bug #617473 and perform the tests
that are proposed there?

As a workaround you could use the 'legacy' Fuse plugins:

I tried that, but that doesn't work for me.

It seems that the problems only occur in the administrative (root) mode
now, I managed to make a backup in normal mode.
