[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 696183] [NEW] Failed to set GID to `admin`: 'getgrnam(): name not found: admin'

2011-01-01 Thread BlueLight
Public bug reported:

I installed sbackup on Mint LMDE from source and the installation went fine
with all dependencies are met.
When I run it it terminates with this output.
Can someone help me to solve this?

Re: [Nssbackup-team] [Question #139746]: Backup is cancelled with error Unable to finish successfully. TAR terminated with errors.

Question #139746 on Simple Backup changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/sbackup/+question/139746

Status: Open = Solved

Manuel Rennecke confirmed that the question is solved:
I upgraded TAR to version 1.25 and now full and incremental backups seem
to work again. Before this I used TAR 1.23 as it comes with ubuntu
10.10.

Opinions on this issue are welcome. I see one problem: silent mode vs.

option.

With the gnome notification system (don't know the specific terminology
here, but whatever comes with Ubuntu by default), you have the option to
click a 'don't show this message again' button. That would keep the
sbackup interface from getting cluttered with options, and shift the
decision to when you know what you're choosing.
