I would rather have had Kightly one-on-one with their keeper than them lose
a player. The reality of ten men is that the defence and midfield can be
basically unaffected and as so many goals come from set-pieces and counter
attacks it's no real punishment.

Meinhofer was useful, and it was good to see Kightly in the thick of things. He
could very well have scored one on one. I thought Berra and Crad
Man Utd Reserve side or not, I don't think there was a single player in their
line up that I wouldn't put in our first team.
I thought we did ok but just missed some creativity and thought we were a bit
too predictable. Milijas seems to have lost his confidence and henry still
prefers passing
I struggle to get too excited about a Carling Cup match at Old Trafford -
even against 10 men. It was a game I didn't want to win and had predicted us
losing 4-0. We didn't score/couldn't score... was Kightly a chance when
fouled? I would have been absolutely gutted if we had scored at the end. Fo
