Steve, the more I think about this the more I believe some shrewd business in the January transfer window will be the factor. Whichever teams in and around us do the best business in January will stay up. So, who would you like to see us buy in the New Year? My wish list, apart from a new Manager, is: 1. Left Back 2. Creative Midfielder who can also defend (to replace Henry) 3. Centre Half 4. Centre forward / Inside forward - someone like Solksjaer who can come on as sub and score a goal or change the game We probably need 2 x midfielder's as Milijas will be sold along with Hammil. The problem is if we are in the bottom 3 come January who will want to join us? Another defender would be good This idea of a Solkjaer is a bit odd. You basically want us to buy a striker who is not good enough to start, and is happy to sit on the bench but who can score an amazing number of goals per minute of play. The magic pudding of a player I was thinking of was Michael Owen. He will score goals full stop. As for the left back, yes, Ward tries hard and has had a few good games but he is not a left back end of! Just like Elokobi, who is even worse, they have no positional or intuitive skill in this position. If you look at all the goals scored against us the majority come down our left hand side, we get found out all the time. Watch the game on Sunday against Sunderland and see for yourself. As for the midfielder someone like Charlie Adam would be good. I don't know anyone in particular Steve as I don't watch the Championship and other League games any more. All I'm saying is that there must be someone in the lower leagues that can do a better job. If not, then give our youngster's an opportunity? Oops, back to the Manager issue again, MM doesn't like giving the youngster's a chance, apart from Forde last Saturday. Maybe he is changing his mind? That's part of my point Steve, we don't seem to attract player's like Charlie Adam when they are exactly the type of player I think we need. When was the last time Wolves have been linked with a big signing from a top team or one that has not just been relegated? I can't think of one, anybody else have a better memory? If we can spend 7 million on Fletcher, 6.5 million on Doyle, supposedly 5 or 6 million on Johnson, surely we can push the boat out a bit and splash 10 million on a good midfielder. By the way Liverpool only paid Blackpool 7 million for Adam. If we aren't able to attract the big signings then we have to nurture and bring through the younger talent, something MM is reluctant to do. Therefore, we are just stagnating with the same old player's in the same old team formation, going nowhere! We need to change things to move forward in my opinion and MM appears to be too stuck in his ways / ideas to change. That is why we are struggling to stay up this season and will continue to struggle to stay up forever and a day with MM in charge.
