Saving the first team to play at home against Burnley, bleedin Burnley?
Gutless in the extreme.
Burnley had a woeful away record then, still have now.
They'd amassed a massive 1 point away from home before they visited us.

Agree totally that we shouldn't be the only ones to be picked out and
slapped over the wrist with a sparrow's feather for throwing games.

Glad we're standing up for ourselves rather than giving into the Premier
league crap. They are in a really tricky position now.

Just out of hypothetical interest, would those who disagreed with the team
selection for Manure still rather we had
gone for it and risked being knackered for Burnely. Those three points
against Burnley came in very handy.

Marcus, I note in your email a couple down you equated us getting a result
at Burnley with Mick being a tactical genius. It's another admission from
you that he is a tactical genius isn't it?

not true... I was very happy after the last two results even if the

I agree that I'm perhaps slightly more pessimistic than some but that's
simply because I want to see an continual improvement in results and to get
continual improvements you need to try and compete. But this morning, the
manager decided that it wasn't in our interests to compete and I find that
deeply flawed that professional sportsmen are being paid to go out and gift
a result to an opposing team.

You're always well @#...@#ed off with Wolves/Mick anyway, so how would we
notice the difference?
2009/12/16 Marcus Chantry <marcus.chan...@macquarie.com>
considering Man Utd certainly weren't anywhere near full strength, and the
fact that our first XI were on a high after beating Spurs, I would have
thought it's as good a time as any to try our luck against Utd. If they
couldn't lift for that type of opportunity then I don't know what will get
their competitive juices flowing.

If we beat Burnley then Mick will take the plaudits for a stroke of tactical
genius and all will be forgotten, but given our record in "must win games"
(i.e. Birmingham, Portsmouth), I certainly won't be putting any money on us
getting the result.

I'm just a bit annoyed that we conceded before we even stepped on the pitch.
We could have forfeited the game and we would have recorded exactly the same
result; a 3 - 0 against and then the entire squad would have been fresh for
Sunday. I want to see my team compete against the best so then at least we
would have had a chance at another "Kenny Miller" moment, but instead Mick
decides it's a battle not worth fighting and takes the gamble that we will
beat Burnley on Sunday. I hope we do otherwise I'm going to be well @#...@#ed
off.

Face it, if he'd played the first XI and lost, you'd have been whining: "Why
did he play our best players when we've got a massive game against Burnley
on Satuday?"
2009/12/16 Marcus Chantry <marcus.chan...@macquarie.com>
the Premier League have confirmed that there has been no wrong-doing and
that Wolves are entitled to pick any 11 from their registered player list.

I feel sorry for the strongest 11 who have been denied the opportunity to
play at Old Trafford and test themselves against the current champions in
front of 76,000 people. Surely as a professional these are the types of
matches that you can look back on and say that you completed with the best
in the game.

I can just picture the stories to the kids: "Dad, what was it like to play
against Man Utd at Old Trafford?", Craddock says "I didn't get to play that
one son as I was saving myself to play Burnley the following weekend".

Mick has made us a laughing stock.

How can it be understrength if all that played were fit. When you look at
it, all of them except Hill have played this year. There's really nothing
that can be done about it I feel. It's just that our second 11 isn't as good
as Chelsea's or Man U's. Would they be complaining if we nabbed a point due
to fresh legs?

Apparently Chelsea have put in a formal protest about Wolves fielding an
under strength team ;)
