Re: [NSWolves] 4-4-2
Firstly, the first two quotes you attribute to me below were comments I made in relation to the Chelsea away game, when the general conversation was about whether we would lose 6-0 or 7-0. I still think 451 was the right approach for that game, and I would next season too. Secondly, I objected to 442 with two out and out strikers in Fletcher and Doyle, or one of those plus SEB. I have repeatedly argued for a formation with a trequartista: There's a lot of debate over 442 vs 451. I like 442 but we lack a true trequartista. Keogh is the closest we've got but he can't seem to score. I think O'hara's got it wrong. Ward is really playing as a trequartista to link up midfield and attack. It's more of a 451 or 4411 that it is a 442 of the old days. Nice to see you publicly supplorting our manager though. On 25 May 2011 15:12, Marcus Chantry marcus.chan...@macquarie.com wrote: Just been reading an article on the Wolves site and O’Hara was talking about our great leader Mick and said *“People were writing us off a few months ago but the gaffer, he made the decision to go 4-4-2 and we had a game plan and we stuck to it.”* Isn’t this the formation that a certain Mr Millward has repeatedly said was wrong and would never work for us? Some examples of Steve’s wisdom: October 2010: “*Having seen our performances this season in 442 I don't think we'll be going anywhere but down with that.”* October 2010: “*If we go 442 then we'll be in real trouble. I'd say 451 and hope for the best.”* March 2011: *“I'm struggling to understand your love of 442 Rog.”* Any response to these Steve or are you happy to finally let our *magnificent manager* make the team decisions?
