Re: [NSWolves] Latest gossip
Interesting story about Olympique Lyon. They went from being a small town club in the shadow of St Etienne to winning the French league 7 times back to back in the 2000s. They did this feat with four different managers and the view of the club is that the manager is a temaporary position but that club success is acheived on the transfer market by buying players that are undervalued and selling them when they are overvalued. The manager has little say in who gets bought. What is annoying is Cubishley ruling himself out. I honestly (foolishly?) believed that someone would have been sounded out before Mick was sacked and that we'd have seen a quick turnaround. A good opportunity to get someone in and have some extra time with the squad due to no game last weekend has been missed. Maybe we won't see anyone before the weekend and it'll be TC looking lost and glancing to his left for instruction, only to realise Mick ain't there. In terms of the number of names being thrown about I take this as a sign that there's not much being 'leaked' from Molineux and that it's the press who don't have a clue, and so are making assumptions to get their stories. The fact that one of the 'official' bits of info to come out is that they are conducting second interviews is a bit worrying and suggests no-one really impressed first time round. If the names being thrown about are anything to go by, that's not really surprising though. RE: [NSWolves] RE: The search [sec=unclassified] [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
If I wasn't a staunch WW fan this might be fun. We've seen some excellent analysis in this forum over the last week or so (thanks Matthew L especially). I hope he's right about the lack of leaking and the press having to invent. But I really think it's managerial incompetence that has us not having a manager ready to walk in when they sack the manager. One of my Everton mates dropped Keane's name this morning as if it was a done deal - no one has any idea. .including the board L Clippy may be the man - if he can beat 'castle then folk will follow him a long way but I'm sure Rog will bring that lead balloon down with the odds agin it happening. The list of betting odds on managers is interesting - there's some promise among them and my reservations are mainly personal prejudice about who's worked at whatever club I hate more than Brighton etc. I guess Poyet is not feasible - could Wolves afford to pay out the remaining 5 years of his 5 year contract? I can't guess what any of them could do with this squad, no money and Morgan in their ear. . I can safely say that, at this stage of the season, I wouldn't want the job. I can't think what else it could be but money that put Curbishley off Really, the Prem is not a place to be tight with money. Morgan should find a buyer if he hasn't got the stomach for it. -- *From:* nswolves@googlegroups.com [mailto:nswolves@googlegroups.com] *On Behalf Of *Morris, Lee SGT *Sent:* Tuesday, 21 February 2012 10:23 AM *To:* nswolves@googlegroups.com *Subject:* [NSWolves] The search [sec=unclassified] [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] *UNCLASSIFIED* Starting to get a little disheartened with the search for a new manager now. Re: [NSWolves] RE: The search [sec=unclassified] [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
My feeling is Morgan will finish his housing project and then get the flock out ! He has no real interest in our club ! Morgan should find a buyer if he hasn't got the stomach for it. Unless the FFP rules change things there's little point trying to compete.
