Re: [NTG-context] crop marks

2016-06-29 Thread Thomas Fehige

Thanks Wolfgang and Thomas, that was it.

Now, what if I want crop marks only outside the printed area? As it is
now, they appear also where the cutting lines cross each other between
the single "pages". That way they'll end up on either the one or the
other of the adjacent pages, maybe half a line on both, depending on how
more or less precise printer and cutting alignments work.

Thanks -- Thomas

Either put a comma after your last assignment marking=on, or move the closing
bracket right after this assignment.

I wonder how I can get crop marks to work. This is what I have, but
they don't show:

\definepapersize[Labelpaper][width=95mm,height=90mm]
\setuppapersize[Labelpaper][A4,portrait]

\setuplayout[
backspace=3mm,

header=0mm,
footer=0mm,
width=89mm,
height=84mm,
nx=2,
ny=3,
location=middle,
marking=on % according to the wiki,
You need a "," after "on", otherwise context uses the following spaces
as part of the value and it sees "on ".

Hi Hans,
thanks in advance, that'd be great.
I intend to typeset business cards in Context in the near future, i
just hope i'll have climbed up the learning curve enough by then.

When you dedicate some time to the marking code, it would be also
great if you could get the markings to be properly shifted when using
\definepageshift / \setuppageshift.

Cheers,
Nicolas

[NTG-context] Crop marks and \setuplayout[nx,ny]

2009-06-07 Thread Nicolas Girard
Hi,
the following code, which I ran with
context --mode=print
shows crop marks in the middle if the sheet, overlapping the pages.
It is legitimate to specify dy=0pt in order to minimize paper cuts.
It seems to me like, in the case when dy=0pt, the code dealing with
crop marks should try not to overlap the pages, or suppress the marks
between two columns of pages.
What do you think ? Is there currently a solution to this ?

Cheers,
Nicolas

[NTG-context] Crop marks and Lightning Source

2003-09-10 Thread John Culleton
A popular POD printer in the USA called LIghtning Source wants the
finished page to be centered on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in the pdf
file submitted to them. This can be done with \definepapersze and
\setuppapersize. However this technique shows cropmarks and
Lighting Source specifies no crop marks.

Question 1: How do I eliminate cropmarks yet still have the smaller page
centered on the larger page?

Second, my customer pointed out to me that on my finished pdf the
cropmarks do not exactly delineate the specific size (in this case 5.5 x
8.5 inches.) On my laser printer they define a space about 1/32 inch
shorter than the nominal dimension in both vertical and horizontal
directions. This is about 2 or 3 points.

Question 2. Why are the cropmarks apparently imprecise?

All hints appreciated, as always.

  Question 2. Why are the cropmarks apparently imprecise?

First question: \setuplayout[marking=no] or is it marking=off? One of
the two.

Second question: I have no idea. One possible thing which has arisen for
me many times: assuming you are printing from Acrobat, are your
print settings set to either enlarge or shrink pages? This is
something I know I have gotten wrong more than once.
