On my home machine now (Mac Tiger GWTeX). I have the attached type-
tmf-gw.dat in ~/tmp and ran:
sudo texfont type-tmf-gw.dat
Resulting output attached in texfont.log.
type-tmf-gw.dat
Description: Binary data
texfont.log
Description: Binary data

That looks like a success to me. You should now be able to run one of
the texnansi-blah-blah.tex test files, as I outlined in an earlier
message.
