Sure,
==
\usemodule[units]

\starttext
$0.511\Mega\eVolt$
\stoptext
==
This one will give me like 0.511eV with the italic eV and no M
at all, besides,
these's no extra space between 0.511 and eV.

MKII works fine with it and gives 0.511 MeV with upright MeV and some small
space in between.

I can also provide my log file (a bit long):

In what beta?
Beta in minimals this morning did not produce error reports at contest

did not include the movie.

[NTG-context] \setuphead[section] who do subsection inherit and how to set something just for sections?

2009-06-03 Thread tristramg

Hello,

Sorry if you get this email twice. I tried posting while I wasn't yet member of
the mailing list.

I didn't find where I can get more informations about this issue:

I want to change the apparance of a \section so I did:

\setuphead[section][style=\bf]
\starttext
\section{foo}
\subsection{bar}
\stoptext

However, subsection is also in bold.
If y do textstyle instead of style, then subsection doesn't inherit the style.

So I have two questions:
– in which documentation is described what parameters are inherited or not?
– how can I change the formating of a section without changing the subsection?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards

Tristram

Re: [NTG-context] \setuppageshift and \setuparranging

2009-06-03 Thread Nicolas Girard
2009/6/2 Willi Egger w.eg...@boede.nl:
 Hi Nicolas,

 Page shifting is working properly here, however you need to setup the
 shifting as:

 \definepageshift[test][horizontal][30pt,-30pt,20pt,-20pt,10pt,-10pt,0pt,0pt,0pt,0pt,10pt,-10pt,+20pt,-20pt,30pt,-30pt]

 The page shifting mechanism is looping over the definition. i.e. you have to
 specify what kind of shift you want for each page in a section (i.e. 16
 parameters in this case).

 Then you will have tell ConTeXt:

 \setuppageshift[paper][test]

 The [paper] option is needed in arranging-mode.

Hi Willi,
thanks for your answer, I could make it work too.
I have several additional questions regarding imposition ; i'll post
them in new threads.
Cheers,
Nicolas

Don't you get anything else, esp. EPS files? Then LilyPond isn't run.

[NTG-context] usemodule[bib] upsets abbreviations

2009-06-03 Thread richard . stephens

Using today's beta (2009-06-03), my abbreviations seem to be upset by the
\usemodule[bib] command.
Here is a simple test case in which the first line is okay, but the second
line, with ! after the abbreviation, fails.

\enableregime[il1]
\abbreviation {KF} {Kalman filter}
\usemodule[bib]

\starttext
Once upon a time, Rudolph Kalman invented the \KF.

Once upon a time, Rudolph Kalman invented the \KF!
\stoptext

Best regards,

Richard

P.S. If I don't put the \enableregime in I get a failure of the bib module,
not sure why.

Either update the bib module from http://modules.contextgarden.net
(please do), or add a \protect at this location of your input
file (ugly hack).

Best wishes,

[NTG-context] Windows PDF viewer with refresh?

2009-06-03 Thread John Devereux

Hi All,

Sorry for the seemingly trivial question, but does anyone have any
advice on the best PDF viewer to use on Windows, for use with Context? I
can't even seem to find one with refresh!

After years of periodic usage of Context on linux, I am now trying to
configure it on a Windows system (for someone else). Any suggestions in
general for setting up a decent workflow would also be very welcome.

Thanks,

Sumatra, GSView or TeXworks (Editor + Viewer)

Great! The appendices now increment A, B, C by default. And, all the lists
(contents, figures, tables, acronyms) are now working. Thanks!

 Great, thanks a lot Hans!

 In my current test case below everything now works except for
 \placecontent
 or \completecontent, which still don't produce anything. Also, I had to
 add
 the second argument \placelist[table,widetable][criterium=all] in order to
 get output. Without [criterium=all] I did not get anything.

 And, I still haven't figured out the conversion sets for getting
 appendices
 labeled A, B, C.

 should happen by default

 also, look at defs in strc-def.tex (don't use these c! and v! in your
 style, just the words)

 lists fixed in next beta (still somewhat tricky as the default settings are
 kind of adaptive)

[NTG-context] Bug in spacement in mathmode mkiv

2009-06-03 Thread Otared Kavian

Hi Hans,

I noticed that in math mode the spacement of some symbols are
incorrect while using mkiv (they are correct in mkii).

Here is an example

% begin example

\starttext
Set $a := bc^{-1}$.
\stoptext

% end example

In this example, there should be a space before and after := as one
may see it readily in mkii (and indeed in plain TeX…).
