[NTG-context] Again Cambria after updating to latest beta

2011-06-09 Thread Willi Egger
Hi all,

Yesterday evening I was quite happy that after deleting and regenerating the
cache and the formats I had Cambria up and running.

This morning I updated Context to the latest beta. - Eventhough I generated the
formats manually with context --make, I get the problem referred to yesterday.
What I get you can see in the by the list administrator released mail from
yesterday.

I am stymied.

looks like something is going wrong with the catcodes in translating the xml,
the \, is written to the output instead of processed.

Is AdobeSongStd-Light.otf indeed in or under /usr/share/fonts/adobe ?
IIRC, it is usually somewhere else (below the AR installation dir).

[NTG-context] Getting arguments by Lua

2011-06-09 Thread Procházka Lukáš Ing . - Pontex s . r . o .

Hello,

when I run context by e.g.:

context.exe Source.mkiv --result=Result.pdf --mode=Mode

is it possible to access the command line arguments from Lua?

I'm aware that modes are accessible by 'tex.modes' ('tex.modes.Mode' gives
'true' in this case);

but I'd need to get also the source file name (Source.mkiv) and the option (--result
- Result.pdf).

Is it possible anyhow?

Best regards,

Lukas

Steps to fix this:

1. rename CAMBRIA.TTC to cambria.ttc

The effect you see is a 2.048 shrink factor, and that happens
probably because context does not recognize .TTC as a TrueType
font with 2048 units.

Thanks. That was very easy. But where do I have to put the \NN when I
use something like

(30 \pm 3)e-3

?

I guess the \pm has to be in $$. If I type

\NN (30$\pm$3)e-3

there's 'e-3' in the pdf-file again. The \NN somewhere between the digit
only creates a big space (new column).

Sorry for being so slow on the uptake.

 Sorry for being so slow on the uptake.

The \NN column expects a valid \digits argument but your code isn’t supported.
You can now resort to math mode or write your own digits code.

[NTG-context] [metafun] MPenvironment / font switching

2011-06-09 Thread Philipp Gesang
Hi all,

I’m struggling with the font used in metapost. The only way to
actually change it appears to be enclosing the mp graphic in two
statements of \setupbodyfont[…] -- which I need to avoid. In the
following example, the background text should be typeset (drawn)
as lm sans, whereas the main font should be left untouched
(serif).

·

\startMPenvironment %[global]
  \switchtobodyfont[sans]
  %\setupbodyfont[sans]
\stopMPenvironment

%\start\setupbodyfont[sans]
\startuseMPgraphic{bg}
  verbatimtex \setupbodyfont[sans] etex ;
  draw btex I wanna get rid of those serifs! etex
xysized (21cm, 5cm) withcolor blue ;
\stopuseMPgraphic

\definelayer[bg][x=0,y=0,width=\paperwidth,height=\paperheight]
\setlayer[bg]{%
  %\setupbodyfont[sans]
  \useMPgraphic{bg}
}
\setupbackgrounds[paper][background=bg]
\setupbackgrounds[state=repeat]
%\stop

\starttext
\dorecurse{42}{I’d really like to keep my serifs! }
\stoptext

·

Wrapping the mp code inside a group is fatal.
\[start|stop]MPenvironment doesn’t seem to have an effect at all
unless called with the “global” flag -- in which case it will
change the main body font as well. Also, inside mp’s
“[verbatim|b]tex ... etex” font switches refuse to work.

I’m really puzzled here, any hints? Thanks in advance
Philipp

Change this in font-ini.mkiv:

Better use \ConTeXt or \CONTEXT, \Context is only a variation of the logo which

ConTeXt postpones fontloading till \starttext, as you won’t get any
text for elements (e.g. layers) which are set before the font was loaded
the typewriter font is used as fallback and this is what you get.

Add “\setupbodyfont[modern]” before your layer settings and switch
the style in the MP graphic with “… btex \ss I wanna get rid … etex …”.
