Re: [NTG-context] Can ConTeXt generate QR-codes

2011-07-26 Thread Procházka Lukáš Ing . - Pontex s . r . o .

Hello,

I tried to compile the example:

 Zint.mkiv
\usemodule[zint]

with

context.exe Zint.mkiv --mode=demo

But it seem that something doesn't work correctly under Windows - see the
result attached and the log.

Pictures to be involved to the document are not generated and (error) messages

zint není názvem vnitřního ani vnějšího příkazu, spustitelného programu nebo
dávkového souboru.

(which means zint is not a name of an internal or an external command, an
executable or a batch file.)

appear several times during the compilation.

And also, three temporary files of a mask zint-*.tmp stay in the directory
after compilation (does the module delete them automatically?).

Lukas

[NTG-context] Weirdness with the names of files processed

2011-07-26 Thread Jaroslav Hajtmar

Hello ConTeXist

I met with great strangeness. When I was looking for a mistake in my
source text, so I experimented and at one point I renamed myfile so that
there are + in its name. At that moment compilation ran flawlessly. I
know that the use of + in the filename is relatively non-standard, but
even so I was surprised
Now everything works fine, but I decided to send it as a curiosity
rather than to be annoyed by someone.
It's really strange and it took me a long time before I discovered the
cause of the collapse of the compilation.

Unfortunately I am unable to put together a minimal example, which
worked, but it is interesting, that compilation will be OK in two cases:

1. when I rename the file to name without +

or

2. when images are not to be found (for example when I comment the line
which contain \setupexternalfigures[directory={flags/}])

Conversely, if + is part of the filename, while images are found, the
compilation will collapse and prints a message that I mention below.

I present here an minimal example (with message list), BUT THAT WILL NOT
WORK because they do not have my library, but
although the problem probably caused by my library, so it probably is
not very important at this point because the problem is maybe a bit wider.

Best regards
Jaroslav Hajtmar

Here is my minimal example. When the file called list-aaa.tex so
everything is OK. When the file named list+aaa.tex and pictures are
found, the compilation fails:

\usemodule[../../t-scancsv.mkiv/t-scancsv]

\setupexternalfigures[directory={flags/}]

\def\flagpicture{\externalfigure[\Flag.png]} %\Flag macro is defined by
my library

\unexpanded\def\tableaction{\expanded{\bTR\bTD\ \flagpicture\eTD\eTR}}

\starttext
\setheader
\setsep{,}
\setfiletoscan{lide.csv}

\bTABLE
\doloopif{\Flag}{~=}{en}{\tableaction}
\eTABLE
\stoptext

And here is message of compilation list:

Thanx Peter.
Sure ... I don't use the problematic characters in file names for
obvious reasons. It happened rather by accident when processing an older
file. But I am surprised because sometimes it works well and sometimes
not at all.

[NTG-context] markdown

2011-07-26 Thread Hans Hagen

Hi,

As it happened that I needed to print a readme.markdown file, the new
beta now has a new extra:

  context --extra=markdown readme.markdown

For some options see:

  context --extra=markdown --help

It will never look real good, but it's better than printing verbatim.

Hans

ah, ok, as fonts are used; for codes without text a png output is fine
as it scales ok

[NTG-context] Wrong radical with euler.otf and texlive 2011.

2011-07-26 Thread Eythan Weg

Hi,

I use euler.otf with texlive 2011. The expression

$1\over\sqrt{{1\over b^2}+{1\over a^2}}$

is typeset with a wrong radical.

Here:

  $$1\over\sqrt{{1\over b^2}+{1\over a^2}}$$

it seems correct.

Beta also exhibits the same behavior.

Is the font or the format, or, perhaps, something else?

Thank, Eythan

I'm curious, what is markdown and why one ever needs to print it? ;)

[NTG-context] Windows minimals installer

2011-07-26 Thread Vyatcheslav Yatskovsky

Hi!

I just noticed that --extras tag was replaced with --modules. This
leads to changes in my Windows installer code.

BTW, does anyone uses my installer? I have got no suggestions or
feedback yet. ;)

Some kind of simple ascii tagging.

As it concerned an api specification I wanted to have something readable
instead of staring at an text file.

Markdown is also referred to as a markup language. There is also a
Wikipedia article about Markdown [1].

[NTG-context] Only show section numbering for \chapter?

2011-07-26 Thread Khaled Hosny
Hello all,

I'm trying to only show section numbering for chapter, both in the
section head and content list. I tried several combinations of
number=yes|no, sectionnumber=yes|no but I either get numbering for all
or none. I tried using \title and \subject by they don't show in the
content list. I ended up using hacks like numbercomman=\dummy, and
defining \def\dummy#1{}, but I'm trying to find if there is a cleaner
solution.

Regards,
 Khaled

[NTG-context] `\setupinterlinespace` and `\{start, stop}standardmakeup`

2011-07-26 Thread Paul Menzel
Dear ConTeXt folks,

following Wolfgang’s advise [1] (Thank you, Wolfgang!) I learned about `
\{start,stop}standardmakeup`.

Am Samstag, den 05.02.2011, 19:34 +0100 schrieb Wolfgang Schuster:

[…]

 \starttext

 \startstandardmakeup[align=middle]
 \definedfont[Serif at 30pt]Titlepage
 \stopstandardmakeup

 …

 \stoptext

Now I am having a title consisting of more than one line and I noticed
the space between those lines seems to be too small. Trying to increase
the space using `\setupinterlinespace` [2] it did not work. I had to use
`\blank` in between. Is that expected? Is it documented somewhere when
`setupinterlinespace` has no effect?

Please find my tests attached.

Thanks,

Paul
