or, when no math is used,
\setupbodyfont[karat]
\definefont[MyPartFont][SansBold at 24pt]
\setuphead[part][style=\MyPartFont]
you could also add more faces to:
\starttypescript [karat]
 \definetypeface [gold] [rm] [serif][gold] [default] [encoding=texnansi]
\definetypeface [karat] [ss] [sans] [karat] [default] [encoding=texnansi]
\stoptypescript
and then (say that the body font is rm (gold)), do
\setuphead[part][style=\ss\bfd]
etc etc

heavily based on X5 but I don't remember what has been changed.
Thanks. The questions now seem to be, is there a significant amount of
fonts/support files/work that relied on x5 that needs to be supported?
Because I just discovered that there were some serious bugs in the
ConTeXt interpretation of the x5 encoding, and that any regular user
would have demanded that something be changed!

afaik nobody has used vietnamese with context yet, so just forget
backward compability and do what is needed.
so we can drop x5 and go for t5 (i.e. lm only needs to support t5)
thanh: adam got most font stuff working like a charm! i'll add things to the

Could you tell me where I could found TFM files for this fonts ?

There is a document on the context website that explains how to

breaks in perl versions 5.8.0 because of the trailing slash in the mkdir call.
It would be great if someone could verify if

If so, then probably changing the second line to read:

Thanks for your good work. Sorry for reminding this bug to you, but it's
the only reason why I can't use nath even though I wish a lot. About the
problem unicode characters in toc.

Ref.: http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2004/005306.html

I attached a minimal example unicode file. You'll get garbage instead of
the expected the e acute on the word Mathmatiques in the table of
contents.

No matter wheter I use the amsl module or not, I get the following entry
in my tuo file:

\listentry{section}{1}{1}{Math^^c3^^a9matiques}{2::0:0:1:0:0:0:0::1}{1}

Moreover, if you replace [nath] with just [amsl], you'll get different
alignment of the formula.

BTW: my TeX doesn't seem to like DOS-style newlines in t-amsl.tex, so I
had to convert them to Unix-style ones.

[NTG-context] nice winxp sp2 blue screen if rsync

2004-11-22 Thread olivier Turlier
I've tryed using (is that natural?) rsync on win xp (for testing Hans
method for updating Contex).
It works smooth if you stay away from xp sp2. Otherwise, you get a blue
screen complaining about memory pbs (error/non error tested twice, on 2
differents win$$box).

[NTG-context] columnset's bodyfont+interlinespace ?

2004-11-22 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

when using \startcolumns I could use:

\startcolumns[n=2,rule=off]
\setupindenting[none]
\switchtobodyfont[8.5pt]\setupinterlinespace[line=10pt]
\clubpenalty=0\widowpenalty=1\displaywidowpenalty=1\brokenpenalty=0
...

but when using \definecolumnset[myset][n=2]
\startcolumnset[myset]
\switchtobodyfont[8.5pt]\setupinterlinespace[line=10pt]
...

doesn't work (actually it ends in halfempty pages).

How to set fontsize+interlinespace with columnsets ?

Re: [NTG-context] How to patch ConText on the Mac for beginners (was: Problem with index generation)

2004-11-22 Thread Matthias Weber
Thanks, Hans, this works!
I have to admit reading Hans' instruction ... and reformat
gave me the shivers. Fortunately I found an almost terminal-free
way to do it on a Mac, I record it here for others who are faint of
heart
like myself.

i) Locate the file you need to modify. This is easiest done by typing
locate filename
in a terminal window, and pasting the located directory path into the
finder
menu box you get under Go...Go To Folder.
This only works if the locate database is up to date, it can be updated
(for instance)
using MacJanitor which freely executes maintenance routines that never
happen
on those Macs that are asleep at night.
ii) Open the located file with TeXShop (for instance), modify it at
will, and save.
This might not work due to missing permissions. In this case, save to
the desktop first and copy
into the located directory. You'll be asked for authentication.
iii) Start GW's i-Installer, go to i-Package... open..., and select
ConTeXt. Then, select configure
only (do not download!), and ignore the warning. i-Installer will then
perform all the secret
things to reformat ConTeXt.

iv) If something went wrong, use the i-Installer to download and
configure ConTeXt again.

Matthias

[NTG-context] Index and publication list conflict

2004-11-22 Thread Matthias Weber
Hello all,
I might be the only one, but I wanted the index before the
bibliography, so
my backmatter looks like:

\startbackmatter
\completeindex
\completepublications
\stopbackmatter
which results in the log (excerpt)
title  : - \headtext {pubs}
(./cxmf.tuo)
system : pubs not found/processed
When I conform and use
\startbackmatter
\completepublications
\completeindex
\stopbackmatter
everything is fine, up to the order. ( TeXLive 2004 only)

2004-11-22 Thread Dirar BOUGATEF
Hi Willy,
What i need is to have a synonym for the font Dirar you defined, how do i
have to proceed? I have tried the following: (Am gonna use my fonts names as
i started the subject with)

\starttypescript [karat]
\definetypeface [karat] [ss] [sans] [karat] [default] [encoding=texnansi]
\stoptypescript
\usetypescriptfile[karat-type]
\usetypescript[karat]
\definebodyfont[MyFont][karat]
\starttext
\switchtobodyfont[MyFont]
\stoptext
This leads to the error:
bodyfont : unknown variant MyFont
Do you see any problem here ?
Many thanks.
