What do you mean by database generator?

MikTeX is available on
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/systems/win32/miktex/tm/packages/. I
don't know what format .cab is, I open it with Total Commander, but
just in case you have problems accessing them, I'm sending a zip file
(off-list) for miktex-metapost-base.cab, miktex-metapost-bin.cab,
miktex-pdfetex.cab and miktex-config.cab. See also

Hmm.

I'm not all that impressed with the looks of PrintFu's (US-centric) main
print service, but people might find their del.icio.us-style
collaborative PDF bookmarking fun:

We might even link to some ConTeXt manuals, I suppose...

Vit,

Nice application of variants.
However, it has to be pointed out that the fake smallcaps with \tt will

be "dangerous" for some applications: the .8 scaling loses the
monospacing in the \tt font.

Clever remark Adam. Thank you I did not realize that. Small note is add
to the Garden. Alternative: It might be applied to the non-monospaced
typewriter variant.

Hi Steve,

This is the problem. This encoding typescript either 1) doesn't help
resolve to the actual filenames, or 2) sends ConTeXt into a loop. (You
are, in effect, saying "The font Baskerville-Italic resolves to the font
Baskerville-Italic"!)

Judging from the results of fondu and what texfont does, you probably
want (in the place of the above typescript):

\starttypescript [serif] [baskerville] [texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville] [texnansi-Baskerville] [encoding=texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Bold] [texnansi-BaskervilleBold]
[encoding=texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Italic] [texnansi-BaskervilleItalic]
[encoding=texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-BoldItalic] [texnansi-BaskervilleBoldItalic]
[encoding=texansi]
\stoptypescript

>\starttypescript [baskerville] [texansi]
>  \definetypeface [baskerville] [rm] [serif] [default] [encoding=texansi]
>\stoptypescript

oops, you're missing an argument:
\definetypeface [baskerville] [rm] [serif] [baskerville] [default]
[encoding=texansi]

That should probably do you...

Re: [NTG-context] Apple Baskerville typescript

2005-06-30 Thread Thomas A. Schmitz
Your typescript is missing one step: you have to connect the symbolic
names (like Baskerville-Roman) with the names of the tfm-files you
generated (and there are some typos in it). Here's my own typescript,
which works:

\loadmapfile[texnansi-apple-baskerville.map]

\usetypescriptfile[type-buy]

\starttypescript [serif] [baskerville] [texnansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Roman]  [texnansi-
baskerville]  [encoding=texnansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Bold]   [texnansi-
baskervillebo]  [encoding=texnansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Italic] [texnansi-
baskervilleit]  [encoding=texnansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Bold-Italic][texnansi-
baskervilleboit] [encoding=texnansi]

\stoptypescript

\starttypescript [serif] [baskerville] [name]
  \usetypescript[serif][fallback]
  \definefontsynonym [Serif]   [Baskerville-Roman]
  \definefontsynonym [SerifItalic] [Baskerville-Italic]
  \definefontsynonym [SerifBold]  [Baskerville-Bold]
  \definefontsynonym  [SerifBoldItalic] [Baskerville-Bold-Italic]
\stoptypescript

\starttypescript [Baskerville]
  \definetypeface [MyBaskerville] [rm] [serif] [baskerville]
[default] [encoding=texnansi]

Does someone happen to have a typescript for Apple's Baskerville? My

I installed the font using fondu and texfont. The example file output

\starttypescript [serif] [baskerville] [name]

\starttypescript [map] [baskerville] [texansi]
  \loadmapfile [texansi-apple-baskerville.map]
\stoptypescript

\starttypescript [serif] [baskerville] [texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville] [Baskerville] [encoding=texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Bold] [Baskerville-Bold]
[encoding=texansi]

  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-Italic] [Baskerville-Italic]
[encoding=texansi]
  \definefontsynonym [Baskerville-BoldItalic] [Baskerville-BoldItalic]
[encoding=texansi]
\stoptypescript

\starttypescript [baskerville] [texansi]
  \definetypeface [baskerville] [rm] [serif] [default]

\stoptypescript

Subject: [NTG-context] context on miktex update not working

I had recently updated miktex including the context.
After update the context fails to work. The kpsewhich
was old as suggested by Mr.Hans Hagen and replaced it
with new one provided by him. but still not working.

I am attaching error file as generated by DOS.

I am using miktex + win Edt in winXP.

does other miktex updaters also have same error. IF
not why in my update. I have already updated context
twice from the internet as of 17 jun 05 update.

can any one point point out what is wrong?
