Re: [NTG-context] Problem following OpenType installation basics for ConTeXt article
Gavin Sinclair said this at Sat, 3 Sep 2005 15:42:36 +1000: Greetings (first post), Hi Gavin, Two things: Are you running texfont from the directory that contains all the .otf files? (This doesn't look like the problem here, but) Are you running the latest ConTeXt? There was a bug in the OpenType support in TeXFont that was fixed in the distribution as of a couple months ago. (sorry for the delay--I'm on the road) adam Adam Lindsay's recent article OpenType installation basics for ConTeXt in The PracTeX Journal (http://www.tug.org/pracjourn/2005-2/lindsay) is very well written. Unfortunately, I was unable to perform the first step. As the article specified, I ran the command: $ texfont --ma --in --ve=public --co=torunska --lcdf --pre --va=liga,kern It started off OK, but failed to properly create the map file. Selected output follows: extending map file : E:/MiKTeX/local/fonts/map/pdftex/context/texnansi-LIGA-KERN-public- torunska.map font identifier : AntykwaTorunska-Bold - text - tfm processing files : otf - tfm + enc otftotfm: './AntykwaTorunska-Bold.otf': No such file or directory no mapfile from otftotfm : texfont.map font identifier : AntykwaTorunska-BoldItalic - text - tfm processing files : otf - tfm + enc otftotfm: './AntykwaTorunska-BoldItalic.otf': No such file or directory no mapfile from otftotfm : texfont.map [and so on for each .otf file] So, otftotfm is claiming that the files don't exist, but they absolutely 100% do. Perhaps it's looking for them somewhere else? Does anyone have any suggestions? The other cropping alternative, \limitatetext, perfectly works with \underbar, but it's useless for me, as it cropps off only at word boundaries. mhh.. But today I tried: \setuptype[option=TEX] \type{\ab[cd]} % [ and ] are highlighted \type{\a\b\c} % only \b and \c highlighted \type+\ab[cd]{ef} %+ % everything highlighted OK So, if the first (bug/feature?) gets fixed and the bugfix that stops green highlighting after \type is applied, it would be much cleaner to define: \definetype[RAW] [\c!option=RAW] \definetype[MP][\c!option=MP] ... \definetype[XML] [\c!option=XML] (as counterparts to \definetyping) than keeping those lenghty definitions for each file type separately. Btw: in the meantime (I last tried it in April) a bug that prevented typing |, _ or \ (I don't remember which one exactly) after the first position got fixed. Whenever that happened and whoever did it: thank you very much! Taco, you sent some patch for XML syntax highlighting some time ago. I don't know if you fixed this one as well: !-- some text -- The both minus signs in -- are highlighted wrong as well. The code inside !-- ... -- is gray, but it would be great to have both delimiters highligted as comment as well. Vim already has over 400 sytax file definitions (probably equivalent to some hundred thousans lines of syntax definitions in ConTeXt). I would like to send the underworked doc with plenty of graphics for proof reading. With graphics it has tens of MB. I tried \setupexternalfigures[option=empty] it shows only frames instead of graphics but graphics is also included, so it resulted in no PDF file size reduction. what happens when object=no is added In case of my goal it is the same: graphics incorporated to PDF. If I understand object=no correctly it prevents reusing graphics, so the size even grows if some figures are inserted several times (... yes, verified). vit Hans - Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl - ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context
