This message has only one cause: ctxtools cannot find the map files in has to use as input. It expects map files to be in fonts/map/pdftex/context and it very likely that instead the file are in fonts/map/dvips/lm A manual copy is needed before running ctxtools. Dear all, After updating ConTeXt to the newest version, I still have font error which was not the problem in the previous version. After downloading new version of LM fonts, I copied the files in the corresponding folder under .../gwTeX/texmf.texlive/. To use them in XeConTeXt, I tried "ctxtools --dpx --force /usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive", Then it asked to use proper texmfroot tree like "CtxTools | proper texmfroot". Aditya— I am using character protrusion. So far as printing goes, TexShop still prints long files with protrusion turned on and still fails with the question file when I turn it off. But, as for not being able to open the file, I will check to see what the recipient is using to read it. That is a good tip. Many thanks. Hans— The problem appears to be the Bonum font from the TeX Gyre distribution. If I change the font to GFSDidot, all is well. Too bad—Bonum is a good font, I think, for papers that are to be presented by reading. With $>texmfstart texexec --pdf --modules font-chi I have font-chi.pdf and no errors. But, the cover is... well, white: ie there are no more 'random box' I was used to see. Nothing to wrong "di per se" (time to make pdf is lesser so it's good), but I usually see it as a configuration error. No simple way right now. It is possible to do that using left and
right keys. So, something like

If you do not want the dot after the number, say stopper=, above.

In ConTeXt this is much easier.
\defineenumeration[theorem][conversion=myconversion]
so, you can do something like
\def\withpagenumbercommand#1{\numbers{#1}.blah\currentpage}
\defineconversion [withpagenumber] [\withpagenumbercommand]
\defineenumeration[test][conversion=withpagenumber]
(I tested this, and this is not working. In fact conversion is not
working with enumerations). This will be fixed soon. If you need it
immediately, there is just a one line change as a workaround.

[NTG-context] quotation
Hi, I need guillemots instead of lowerleftdouble- and upperrightdoublequotes in the German environment. On my minimal installation (Linux) I managed to change that by editing the cont-sys.tex file in texmf-local/tex/context/user. At work, on a Mac with gwTeX, nothing I tried had any effect: editing the cont-sys.tex file (in texmf.pkgs/tex/context/user) copying cont-sys.tex to texmf.texlive/tex/context/user editing the lang-ger.tex files (in texmf.pkgs or texmf.texlive) Thanks for the help, Jörg PS 1: I didn't forget texhash PS 2: It's the first time I have to use the German environment. [NTG-context] printing problem
I have a 24 page PDF file produced using ConTeXt ver: 2007.02.21 11:55 MKII and the latest TeXShop. I can only print pp. 1-3 of this file with TeXShop. Acrobat Pro, however, has no trouble printing the entire file (mercifully—this paper is for a conference for which I leave tomorrow) and TeXShop has no problem with my other files, some of which are quite long. So I do I figure out what the problem is? It seems to be with the file, but I have no idea what. The encoding is hardly weird or unusual. Though I can print the thing, the problem is still somewhat pressing. I sent the file to two people who usually have no difficulty with my PDFs. Instead of the \hrule command above you could also resort to \thinrule. The global behaviour of \thinrule can then be customized via \setupthinrules ...
