 I'm sorry, didn't think of that. It makes sense, of course.

 Another possibility would be removing the backaddress=yes switch
 completely. Then if backaddress data is supplied it's printed along
 with the line below and if not, well, then leave out the separator
 line.

 What do you think?

 Have you tried what will happen with a enabled backaddress and
 no value for backaddress, fromname and fromaddress are shown
 as backaddress but I don't rely on this feature and change it to
 waht you suggested.

 I've just tried this quickly and this seems even better … then what
 about removing the option backaddress=yes from \setupletterstyle
 and provide a key auto for backaddress in \setupletter? Thus:

 I don't remove backaddress from \setupletterstyle because each layer
 has a boolean switch and I don't want a backaddress on my letters.

 1. No backaddress line

 \setupletter
[fromname={Arthur Thor},
 fromaddress={Hidden Street 2\\57895 Mysterytown}]

 2. backaddress line generated from sender information

 \setupletter
[fromname={Arthur Thor},
 fromaddress={Hidden Street 2\\57895 Mysterytown},
 backaddress=auto]

 3. Custom backaddress

 \setupletter
[fromname={Arthur Thor},
 fromaddress={Hidden Street 2\\57895 Mysterytown},
 backaddress={Thor Inc., Mystery Street 5, 59875 Hidden Town}]

 I uploaded a new release with the option yes, auto and no for the
 backaddress key, yes and auto use fromname and fromaddress,
 no sets no backaddress and you can write a cutomized backaddress
 with anything else as content for the backaddress key.

I will move this option in the next relase from \setupletter[backaddress=...]
to \setupletterstyle[backaddress][option][alternative=...] because it works
also with normal text as argument for \setupletter[backaddress=...].

Wolfgang

 Yes, yes and yes.

 You have to switch ä and å but I corrected my version.

 i added the vector to sort-lan.lua

There is something wrong in the encoding for the finish sorting.

[NTG-context] Adobe ArnoPro in mkiv

2008-07-09 Thread Thomas A. Schmitz
Hi all,

I'm trying to use the Adobe ArnoPro font (just testing if it will work
with
ConTeXt). The font does work with ConTeXt/XeTeX, but not in mkiv. When I
try to compile my test file with mkiv, I get this error message (which
isn't very helpful to me):

MtxRun | return code: ?
...live/texmf-local/scripts/context/lua/mtx-context.lua:572: attempt
to compare number with nil

I'm using the latest beta and luatex 0.28.0

Can anybody explain what's going wrong here?

Thanks

Thomas

Had a look at the former context windows installation. When firing up scite

In ubuntu the scite output window informs

Didn't give much attention to that one previously.

Don't know whether that's the cause of the problem. Nevertheless, any idea
how to set this straight ?

That does it. Thanks very much. I will only suggest that since a
blank page needs neither header nor footer that this fix be included
some way in Context itself, so that every time a blank page is
generated automatically it is shorn of these items. That is the usual
practice in book layout according to my references.

\definepagebreak is a normal ConTeXt and not a fix, you could also
use the values in \setuphead without the intermediate way.

\setuphead[chapter][page={yes,header,footer,right}]

In my experience, in educational settings there often are headings and
footers on such empty pages, so that it is absolutely clear that it was
not a printing error. YMMV.

[NTG-context] \placebookmarks: opening with only topmost levels visible

2008-07-09 Thread Sanjoy Mahajan
From this minimal example, the resulting PDF file opens with chapter and
section bookmarks. But it should open with just chapter bookmarks due
to the second argument in this line:

\placebookmarks
   [chapter,section]
   [chapter]

The problem is mentioned on the wiki
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/PDF_Bookmarks_and_Headers and I wasn't
able to solve it by looking over the bookmark code in core-int.tex.

I tried the example, with the same results, using Mk II 2008.05.21 (on
my Debian i386 laptop), Mk II 2008.07.07 (live.contextgarden.net), and
live Luatex.

Any ideas? Should I post an issue on the tracker, just for reference?

[NTG-context] XeTeX and precise font sizes

2008-07-09 Thread Neiaglov Dmitry
Hello there!

I was googling around, but couldn't really figure out how to use
OpenType fonts with ConTeXt and XeTeX with precise sizes in points. I
am trying to create a subsection style with Gentium 24pt.

I am creating a typeface like it's recommended in the documentation:

\definetypeface [Gentium][rm][Xserif][Gentium]

Then I create my own subsection style:

\setuphead  [subsection]
[alternative=inmargin,
numbercolor=orange,
style=\Gentium]

So far so good, but it actually types the subsection out with some pre-
determined font size.

What I'm trying to do is get my subsections at the size of, say,
precisely 24 pt.

Stuff like

\definetypeface [Gentium][rm][Xserif][Gentium]
\definefont [Subs][Gentium at 24pt]

apparently invokes non-XeTeX font routines (pardon my ignorance):

kpathsea: Running mktextfm subsections
mktextfm: Running mf-nowin -progname=mf \mode:=ljfour; mag:=1;
nonstopmode; input subsections
This is METAFONT, Version 2.71828 (Web2C 7.5.6)
kpathsea: Running mktexmf subsections
! I can't find file `subsections'.

The best I was able to get was adding rscale

\definetypeface [Gentium][rm][Xserif][Gentium][rscale=1.4]

which is bad for two reasons: first, it's not logically correct, since
I am planning to use my typeface for different sizes throughout the
document, and second, I really want to control my sizes in points.

Thanks in advance,
Dima

[NTG-context] Filling frames with rounded corners

2008-07-09 Thread 302302
Is there any possibility to fill frames with rounded corners by defined color
but not as a rectangle?

I mean if I define

\defineframed [frm][framecorner=round, frameoffset=20pt, background=color,
backgroundcolor=color2]

it ignores the rounded corners and offset and fills it like a regular rectangle.

 Hello,
 I suggested to the author of the very feature rich LaTeX-Listings package,

 * listings.sty uses keyval.sty, how is the proper ConTeXt-way to do the
   same things as keyval, or should listings stay with keyval?
