Thanks for your explanation, I see.

There are some Chinese punctuations,
such as “," (fullwidth comma), "!" (fullwidth exclamation mark) and so on,
which are considered to be "chinese" but not "full_width_close" by
scrp-cjk.lua.
Is this deliberately doing?

Don't know why this happens with the randomizer in thrd-ran.tex but
it's easy to solve it in supp-ran.tex

Line 72 is '\ifx\normaluniformdeviate\undefined' but \normaluniformdeviate
is not defined but \uniformdeviate is defined (I guess \bindprimitive in
syst-ini.tex prefixed the commands with 'normal' in a earlier version).

You should also remove the normal prefix from the \nextrandom redefinition
in supp-ran.tex

there are some upward incompatible changes in ruby (even syntax) so i
need some time to figure that out. In the meantime ... just avoid using

Hi,

As prelude to LuaTeX 0.40 there is now a beta 0.35. I uploaded a context
beta that matches this version. The most important move is that we now have
a new math subsystem. (Specially for Mojca: iwona seems to work ok). Apart
from bringin unicode math this also gives a better performance. (Some info
about what is involved can be found in mk.pdf on the website).

There might be ommisions so when you run into one, just let us know.

Hi,

Maybe there are some bugs in scrp-ini.lua and scrp-cjk.lua as follows:

1. In scrp-ini.lua, some flags of punctuations in the definition of
"hash" are replaced by
"chinese" flags, for example:

local hash = {
... ...
[0xFF0C] = "full_width_close", -- ,
... ...
}
... ...
for i=0x0FF00,0x0FFEF do hash[i] = "chinese" end
... ...

2. In scrp-cjk.lua, it seems that "insert_node_before" in some break &
shrink & stretch functions
should be "insert_node_after", for example:

local function nobreak_stretch(head,current)
insert_node_before(head,current,make_penalty_node(1))
insert_node_before(head,current,make_glue_node(0,inter_char_stretch,0))
end

we only insert nodes before, so in that case you need to look at another
combination; so, like

 [insert]

is triggered only once, by the table entry

[class a] = { class_b = ... }

In addition, I found Chinese punctuations compression in this beta.
Will these features be provided in future beta?

maybe, once we have decided on a proper reference font

There is a bug somewhere in the initialization of the random number

to add \nextrandom somewhere before \starttext and then the first item

The best would be to add

If there was something similar for ConTeXt, I would vote for this
feature immediately :)

Is that "current"? You may try the beta. I would suspect that you
would run into troubles with luatex version mismatch anyway if you
keep using the old ConTeXt version and decide to update luatex.

  \expanded{\everyvbox{\the\everyhbox\noexpand

This solves the problem, but I'm not sure if it's the right fix and it

There is a bug somewhere in the initialization of the random number

is to add \nextrandom somewhere before \starttext and then the first
item will be random.

The best would be to add

  \appendtoks\nextrandom\to\everystarttext

to the core.

Hi,

Maybe there are some bugs in scrp-ini.lua and scrp-cjk.lua as follows:

1. In scrp-ini.lua, some flags of punctuations in the definition of
"hash" are replaced by
"chinese" flags, for example:

local hash = {
... ...
[0xFF0C] = "full_width_close", -- ,
... ...
}
... ...
for i=0x0FF00,0x0FFEF do hash[i] = "chinese" end
... ...

2. In scrp-cjk.lua, it seems that "insert_node_before" in some break &
shrink & stretch functions
should be "insert_node_after", for example:

local function nobreak_stretch(head,current)
insert_node_before(head,current,make_penalty_node(1))
insert_node_before(head,current,make_glue_node(0,inter_char_stretch,0))
end

In addition, I found Chinese punctuations compression in this beta.
Will these features be provided in future beta?

example, if I have 40 multiple choice questions, each of which has the
following

form:

Question Text
\startitemize[random]
\startitem first item \stopitem
\startitem second item \stopitem
\startitem third item \stopitem
\startitem fourth item \stopitem

If I want the PDF file that has the items in the order I entered them
in (i.e.,
not a random permutation); is it possible to do that in a way other
than going

and taking out the "random" from each itemize environment?

Thanks.

You have never complained, so your rights flew away with the old
server (some files were not updated), but it it should be OK again.
Just go forward next time. I hope that binaries compiled on Leopard
work on older macs. (We can do some tests before if needed or just
wait on other users' complaints like we did for linux.)

Using \intertext{\rm še če je že \dorecurse{100}{bla}} works OK, but
it would be nice to fix it globally/automatically.

I also found this:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.tex.context.devel/486

This solves the problem, but I'm not sure if it's the right fix and it
also needs to be fixed for \startintertext:

Hans?

It works for me, but I have tried it with
This is LuaTeX, Version snapshot-0.35.0
ConTeXt  ver: 2009.02.25 14:43 MKIV  fmt: 2009.2.28  int: english/english
and the latest version of the module. If you use some old version of
the module, it might not be adapted for mkiv yet. If the latest module
doesn't work for you, then you have "too old" ConTeXt.

There were some error reports, but those come from lilypond and
despite the errors, code still works:
