[NTG-context] \setuptyping: font size

2010-12-01 Thread Procházka Lukáš Ing . - Pontex s . r . o .

Hello,

I'm trying to \setuptyping to use a 8pt font size [of a tt typeface].

Here are my trials - in several cases I get the wanted result but with error

--- t.mkiv
\enableregime[cp1250]

\starttext

A part of the error message:

---

The code \setuptyping[default][bodyfont=8pt,style=\tt\setupinterlinespace] used to
work; but this may have been an accident - there is no option bodyfont for \setuptyping
on wiki.

So what is the CORRECT way how to select a specific font size for \setuptyping
or \typefile?

Kind regards,

Lukas

[NTG-context] bib problems

2010-12-01 Thread Thomas A. Schmitz
Hi all,

the last days have brought a couple of bug reports on bibliographies in
ConTeXt. I will try and create a number of examples so Hans can test and debug.
In order to facilitate the creation of minimal examples for all users, we have
a couple of suggestions:

1. There is now a dedicated page for bibliography support on the wiki;
unsurprisingly, it's at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Bibliographies. For the
time being, this page is just a skeleton; you are all invited to contribute.

2. The page contains a link to a sample bib file. This file will be part of the
main distribution (and hence of the minimals) under
context/tex/texmf-context/bibtex/bib/sample.bib. I will send this file to Hans.
At the same time, it is meant as a bibliography for ConTeXt related
publications. So if you build minimal examples, please try with this file
first. If the error you are reporting is triggered by a certain publication
type which is not yet represented in the sample file, please modify the file on
your disk, but *remember to add these modifications to the file on the wiki*
(http://wiki.contextgarden.net/sample_bib) and drop me a line! If you want to
add further ConTeXt related publications, feel free to do so! I will send Hans
and Mojca updated versions of this file which I'll pick up on the wiki.

3. As you know, priority in development is given to mkiv. The bib module for
mkii was written by Taco, and as far as I understood him, it is quite unlikely
that he will have the time to do extensive work on it.

Later today, I will try and coordinate the bug reports I can still find in an
example. Please add your reports as well.

All best

Thomas

2010-12-01 Thread Procházka Lukáš Ing . - Pontex s . r . o .

I had the same problem several days ago; Wolfgang answered but I cannot
remember the mail thread.

It requires a small patch in
c:\ConTeXt\tex\texmf-context\tex\context\base\regi-ini.lua - see the attachment.

Or maybe it's been patched in the newest ctx minimals.

Note that if you replace reg-ini.lua manually, you'll probably need to delete
the lua-cache
(c:\ConTeXt\tex\texmf-cache\luatex-cache\context\f53042fa2e1c106bc7e3383ec8c3a00c
 in my case) directory as well.

Cheers,

Lukas

The '!' is actually pretty neat, since it allows you to blend colors. By
default, tikz blends colors with white, so

red!10

means mix 10% red with 90% white. This has the advantage that I can take
any color, say

\definecolor[mycolor][r=0.42,g=1.,b=0.2]

and lighten it 50% by just using

mycolor!50

I can also blend two colors together, using

colorA!50!colorB

I'm also pretty sure that context didn't always ignore the exclamation
mark. Is there a way to reverse this behaviour?

PS I've tried using spot colors in context, but that doesn't seem to
work:

\definespotcolor[mycolor][red][p=.1]

I'm pretty sure that I never implemented something using a questionmark.
However, we do have:

\definecolor[red-t]  [r=1,t=0.5,a=1]
\definecolor[green-t][g=1,t=0.5,a=1]
\defineintermediatecolor[mycolora][0.5,red,green]
\defineintermediatecolor[mycolorb][0.5,red-t,green-t]

\starttext

test {\mycolorb OEPS} test
\stoptext

I could probably support

\definecolor[xxx][0.5(red,green)]
\definecolor[xxx][0.5(red)]

which looks better than this ! and is less likely to conflict with names
as abc! is a rather value color name.

[NTG-context] Three column nomenclature settings?

Nomenclature can be considered as a type of synonyms.

Therefore, I can define a nomenclature as :

\definesynonyms[nomenclature][nomenclatures][\infull]

\setupsynonyms[nomenclature] [criterium=all,location=serried]

here I use location=serried, becasue I found the synonym is not in the same
line ( higher than) the meaning.

But I want a three-column nomenclature list. The first column is the
synonym, the second is the meaning, the third is the si-unit of it, if the

[NTG-context] interactive chapter titles in margin

chapter headings, and I want the chapter titles in the
margins only; they should not interfere with normal
indentation, spacing, etc. So far, I haven't really found
a solution. Here's a small example (with some code from
the wiki):

\defineinmargin [ChapterInMargin] [outer] [normal]
[distance=0.3em]

\setuphead[chapter][style=bold,
number=no,
expansion=yes,
alternative=text,
distance=0pt,
indentnext=yes,

after={\blank[0pt]},
command=\MyChapter,
page=no]

\def\MyChapter#1#2{\ChapterInMargin{#2}}

\setupinteraction[state=start]

\placebookmarks[chapter][all][force=yes]

\setupindenting[medium,yes]

\startchapter[title=One,bookmark=One]

\dorecurse{5}{\input knuth}

\stopchapter

\startchapter[title=Two,bookmark=Two]

\dorecurse{5}{\input tufte}

\stopchapter

\startchapter[title=Three,bookmark=Three]

\dorecurse{5}{\input bryson}

\stopchapter

\stoptext

Can anybody provide an idea what to do? THanks!

Re: [NTG-context] Indent after Float

 Hi all,

 please consider the following example:

 \setupindenting[big,yes]
 \setupfloats[indentnext=yes] % default: no

 \def\TestFloatPlacement#1%

   \placefigure[#1,nonumber]{place=#1}{}

 \starttext
 \TestFloatPlacement{top}
 \TestFloatPlacement{bottom}
 \TestFloatPlacement{auto}
 \TestFloatPlacement{right}
 \stoptext

 Only top seems to give the right indenting. It worked (at least with
 auto) a while ago. I have many floats placed auto. So is there a quick
 fix?

Hi again,

I tried some more placement options (attachment). An indent only shows up with
the option here, top and margin.

I don't claim that I have tested MKII after changing titles into something like
\subsubsection{$\bi sp^2$ hibridisation}

If I knew how to switch to bold math properly, I could avoid using \bi
(which I should do in any case anyway), but \bi was the fastest hack I
could come up with quickly.

I suggest that once the other more urgest MKIV-related issues are
resolved ... to take a quick look into this as well. Tuo file says:

\listentry{subsubsection}{17}{}{$\bi sp$ -- linearna
hibridizacija}{2--0-0-6-1-1-0-0--8}{9}%

And I suspect that this breaks.

But please fix the MKIV issues first since they are all pretty serious.

 I'm pretty sure that I never implemented something using a questionmark.
 However, we do have:

 \definecolor[red-t]  [r=1,t=0.5,a=1]
 \definecolor[green-t][g=1,t=0.5,a=1]
 \defineintermediatecolor[mycolora][0.5,red,green]
 \defineintermediatecolor[mycolorb][0.5,red-t,green-t]

 \starttext
  test {\mycolora OEPS} test
  test {\mycolorb OEPS} test
 \stoptext

 I could probably support

 \definecolor[xxx][0.5(red,green)]
 \definecolor[xxx][0.5(red)]

 which looks better than this ! and is less likely to conflict with names
 as abc! is a rather value color name.

OK, thanks. Last question then: is there a way to redefine standard
colors? Something like:

\redefinecolor[red][r=0,g=1,b=0]

 How can i get a list of _all_ (even unused) abbreviations?
 \placelistofabbreviations[criterium=all]

 that does not work here with mkiv
 i get the text
 [criterium=all]
 after the usual list of abbreviations.

 You need the setup command:

 \setupsynonyms[abbreviation][criterium=all]

 Example:

 \definesynonyms[test][tests]

 \setupsynonyms[test][criterium=all]

 \test{one}{1}
 \test{two}{2}

 \starttext

 \one

 \placelistoftests

\definecolor [surprisepink!] [roscolux51]

The TiKz syntax red!50!green is short, sweet and rather strange. But the
question remains on how to support full TiKz use under ConTeXt.

In Metapost, we have 0.5[red,green] (does this work with colors?). Would
\definecolor[xxx][0.5[red,green]] be a better alternative? Is such a syntax
possible? Would this be readable?

The next step would be to allow \color[0.5[red,green]] (or
\color[0.5(red,green)]), i.e. such syntax wherever a color can be used.
