Hi,
I'm trying to make some (mkiv) handouts from my simpleslides presentation.
Unfortunately the resulting pdf is blank for the slides, no frames either. Can
someone give me an example that works?
Here's my minimal:

Taco can surely better explain why. I think somewhere in the luatex
manual, he explains why luatex sets locale to "C".

This can't possibly be right (is there a language which has “quote„ ?). I think the usual thing would be \installlanguage [\s!la] [\c!rightquotation=\upperrightdoubleninequote, \c!rightquote=\upperrightsingleninequote, ... Taco can surely better explain why. I think somewhere in the luatex
manual, he explains why luatex sets locale to "C".
To see the differences in the environment, just do "set >/tmp/set-shell"
and run context on:

I don't have pandoc, but I'm sure that you can reproduce the problem

Hi Hans, using the 'Report PDF syntax issues'-preflight in Acrobat9 gives a warning about an 'Unexpected value for this key'. I used 'pdf-x4p.mkiv' from /texmf-context/tex/context/test/ as test file. Probably just a warning about a redundancy (see 'PDF Reference, version 1.7.pdf', p376), setting 'BaseState /ON' in combination with '/ON [ whatever] /OFF [whatever]'. Removing 'BaseState /ON' results in a flawless PDF.
