[NTG-context] part titles not showing up

2013-08-19 Thread Henning Hraban Ramm
Hi together,
I wonder why I can’t seem to get my part titles visible:

%\setuphead[part]{WHAT?}

\starttext

\part{Bart Eins}

\chapter{Gabiddel Eins}

\input tufte

\chapter{Gabiddel Dswei}

\input tufte

\part{Bart Zwei}

\chapter{Gabiddel Trei}

\input tufte

\stoptext

I also tried \startpart[title=Something] etc. to no avail.
If I remember correctly, part titles shouldn't need any setup to at least show
up somehow?

Thank you! Now it works, of course.

But why should parts not get displayed by default?

[NTG-context] math bold not bold-italic

2013-08-19 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

I need upright, bold math. Like in this example the lambda:

\usetypescript[type-vista.tex]
\setupbodyfont[cambria,rm,12pt]

\starttext
This is \fontname\font

${\bf λ}= 1$

\stoptext

But it always gets bold-italic!
What is the correct way to get bold math?

Thanks, Steffen

Try running:

context --make

You may not need to run all of them... but it is easier this way.

 mtxrun  | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua'

 The weird thing is that my ConTeXt standalone installation works on
 command line (with context myfile.tex).

I finally realized that I hadn't tried using ConTeXt from an editor
since I installed MacTeX Basic on this computer (the full package
refuses to download, even with Safari). So the problem wasn't in the
ConTeXt update but in what I did before that.
It took a bit of digging, but in a moment of inspiration I checked
/usr/ and found a symbolic link
texbin - /Library/TeX/Distributions/.DefaultTeX/Contents/Programs/texbin

I *think* that was what wreaked havoc in my editors, because when I
_removed_ the texbin path from TextMate, ConTeXt started working again
in that editor.

So now I have TextMate for ConTeXt and TeXShop for LaTeX, and I'm
quite content with this arrangement; I don't mind having dedicated
software as long as it works and I've achieved that aim now.

Thank you all for your help in deducing that I indeed had a path
problem, that led me to find a (the?) solution.

Thanks very much Mica for your support. Once I executed first the setuptex.bat,
the other command lines are worked nicely.

I want just notice that for people that want to work with the text editor
WinEdt, there is now a macro command contributed by Karl Koeller which allows
running ConTeXt within WinEdt, and which is very simple to manage. The link is
given here: Web Site http://www.winedt.ORG http://www.winedt.ORG

Thanks again!

[NTG-context] Cyrillic replacement for TeX Gyre Schola?

2013-08-19 Thread Henning Hraban Ramm
приве́т!

My songbooks are typeset in TeX Gyre Schola (since Century Schoolbook is the
default lyrics font of LilyPond, I like it and it’s very readable). Seems like
I didn’t need Russian lyrics since the removal of Cyrillic glyphs from TeX
Gyre. But now I do.
What would you do? Is there an illegal complete version around, or can you
suggest a replacement (and tell me how to setup ConTeXt to take that font for
all Cyrillic letters)?

Greetlings, Hraban
