Re: [NTG-context] openBSD (was: which command would give the same effect as \pause in beamer ?)

2017-03-02 Thread Karl Berry
Presently, I do not believe that openBSD is officially built for
TeXlive.

That is correct. The person who used to do so (Edd Barrett) decided the
distro's package setup was good enough for him, and no one else has come
forward. (No one has complained about it being missing, either.) I have
no objection to re-adding it if you or anyone wants to do it. -k

Re: [NTG-context] location of mtx-scripts

2011-10-01 Thread Karl Berry
Iœôòùd like to ask if there is any update on this:

The same issue has now arisen with context-simpleslides (hi Aditya and
Thomas), which now has:
scripts/context/lua/third/simpleslides/mtx-simpleslides.lua

The t- prefix doesn't make a difference to TL, so I went ahead and added
scripts/context/lua/third/PKGNAME to our patterns and updated
simpleslides.

Philipp, if you move mtx-rst.lua to scripts/context/lua/third/rst,
(instead of directly under lua/), I'll update rst too.

Thanks,
Karl

Re: [NTG-context] Making necessary OpenType features on by default

2009-02-22 Thread Karl Berry
Why not just include the SIL arabic fonts?

The OFL is fine for a license. TL already has several other OFL'd fonts.

If someone puts the fonts on CTAN, I don't mind incorporating them in TL.
(As a practical matter, it is a lot of extra work for me to work with any
package that is not on CTAN. And besides, we want CTAN to be
comprehensive.)

It would also be nice to have supporting TeXish files, but if the bare
otf's/ttf's/whatever SIL gives are useful with LuaTeX/ConTeXt, I don't
insist.

Re: [NTG-context] mplib

2007-03-19 Thread Karl Berry
Soon there will also be the option to support specific projects (tug
project page).

It is possible to contribute specifically to TUG's development fund,
which is TUG's pigeonhole for dev projects, at
https://www.tug.org/donate.html. Any donations to that now will end up
going to luatex/mplib.

Donations are, of course, greatly appreciated :). As Hans said, new
members for TUG (http://tug.org/join.html) or any other user group
(http://tug.org/usergroups.html) are also greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Karl

Re: [NTG-context] Context 2005.11.11 Released

2005-11-11 Thread Karl Berry
Hi Adam,

Is this a Halo release for TeXLive?

I don't know what that means, but no, this context release won't be on
TL'05. That's frozen, and Manfred is making the golden masters for
final testing and production now. From what Hans and Taco have told me,
the post-TL context releases aren't critical, i.e., TL should be ok. If
that's not the case, I don't want to know :). (Ok, not really, please
inform ASAP if that's so :)

Cheers,

[NTG-context] Tex-Live bittorrent sites?

2005-02-10 Thread Karl Berry
Is there a bittorrent site for downloading the current version of
texlive?

Not that I am aware of. If you find one or can set one up, please email
[EMAIL PROTECTED] with the info.

For those who may not know -- Hans just asked me :) -- BitTorrent is a
peer-to-peer system that lets big files be downloaded in small pieces
from many different machines. The client reassembles the pieces. I
haven't used it myself, although I've heard some good things about it.

[NTG-context] ConTeXt at San Francisco conference?

2004-01-06 Thread Karl Berry
Dear ConTeXt folks,

The TeX Users Group is sponsoring a user-oriented regional conference on
the practical uses of TeX, July 19-22, 2004 in San Francisco. For the
sake of publicity and announcements, we were wondering if there is
sufficient interest in ConTeXt to list it as a conference topic.

The primary topics of the conference will be LaTeX and AMS-LaTeX.
However, we do want to include other TeX documentation systems, so that
TeX users will be aware of and know how to use other tools. In previous
TUG conferences Hans Hagen has held workshops on ConTeXt, which have
been well-received.

Some preliminary information is available at
http://tug.org/practicaltex2004. We would like to hear from anyone who
would like to attend, as either a speaker or delegate. Please reply to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] if you are interested.

Thanks!

Karl Berry (current TUG president, in this, um, context :)
