Re: [NTG-context] Struggling with SQL!

2021-06-04 Thread G.C.H.M. Verhaag
Hans, thanks for your answer. I also tried \usemodule[sql] with the same
result however!

The system I use is Ubuntu 18.01 and installed TeXStudio, that's all.

That also installs TeX/LaTeX/ConTeXt, but probably that's causing the
issues!

Hopefully a complete reinstall of TeXLive will solve the issue.

Gerard

Thanks to those that contributed to this thread! The code

\setupcaption[figure][distance=\zeropoint]
\defineconversion[gobble][\gobbleoneargument]
\setupnumber[figure][conversion=gobble]
\setuplabeltext[figure=]

at the moment! By the way, am I right in saying that the interaction
feature of the list doesn't work when using this trick?

Well, I've one more question related to the list of figures.
Is there a way to truncate a long caption to a maximum of just no more
than a fraction of the length of a textline and indicate the truncation
by for example a few dots (...)?
Something like:

A very long figure caption truncated just here...
 pagenumber

[NTG-context] Completelistoffigures, help needed!

2007-09-22 Thread G.C.H.M. Verhaag
Dear ConTeXt Users,

Last week I posted a completelistoffigures question, but unfortunately
nobody responded to it! That's why I give it another try, because I
don't know how to tackle this problem.

I'd like to generate a list of figures that only have a caption
description, but no figure (\setupcaptions[...,number=no,]) number.

Using the setupcaptions command in the preamble with the number=no
option yields only the title Figures of the list of figures, nothing
more! However, when I change the number option of the setupcaptions
command to yes, the list is generated correctly. But I don't want a
figure number to appear in the caption of a figure! The figures appear
throughout a book I'm currently writing using ConTeXt.

Is there a way to accomplish the desired effect using the
completelistoffigures command?

Please can anybody give a hint! Thanks!

Regards,
   Gerard

Adam. after having solved the problem with Perl, your hints to use

A do have a final question about fonts in ConTeXt. Most of the time it
suffices to use the pre-defined typefaces that come with ConTeXt, but
what if one wants to alter them slightly? Well, one can try reading the
manual Fonts in ConTeXt and TeXfont Explained! But to me those manuals
are too difficult to read. So perhaps I should refrain from considering
to modify typefaces and leave that to the experts. But I'd like to
understand a bit more about the fonts stuff in ConTeXt.

Maybe a very, very basic description of typescripts, fonts and typefaces
will do a good job for the less advanced ConTeXt users?

[NTG-context] Bad page breaks!

2005-02-11 Thread G.C.H.M. Verhaag
 Dear ConTeXt-users,
I'm trying to typeset a small book using ConTeXt (TeXLive 2004), and use
the following setup:

\setupbodyfont[rm,12pt]
\definepapersize[BOOK][width=140mm,height=210mm]
\setuppapersize[BOOK][A4]
\setuplayout[
[topspace=24mm,
 header=8mm,
 headerdistance=10mm,
 backspace=19.5mm,
 leftmargin=15.5mm,
 rightmargin=23mm,
 footerdistance=5mm,
 footer=4mm,
 height=fit,
 width=fit,
 marking=on,
 location=middle]
Page breaks are usually calculated automatically by TeX, but I notice
that in my case they turn out to be very bad. A lot of pages are
involved, so I wonder how this can be improved? Sometimes even 3 lines
could be added without any difficulty to a page by TeX before inserting
a page break!

I've tried to use \adaptlayout but it doesn't seem to work, no effect!
Has it perhaps something to do with the setup I use?

Well fetching large files from Internet is very time consuming when

Isn't it possible to create the missing tfm files, which ConTeXt uses,

[NTG-context] Fonts in ConTeXt!

2005-02-06 Thread G.C.H.M. Verhaag
 Beste ConTeXt gebruikers,

M.vr.gr.,
   Geert
