[NTG-context] Disable Ligatures in \type

2014-11-21 Thread Gareth Jones
Hi all,

When I use \type{} or \starttyping, I get unwanted ligatures in
ConTeXt MkIV output (e.g. “–” for “--” and the ff/fl/fi ligatures).
Please see the attached for a minimal example.

Things work as expected with the default fonts, but break when
\definefontfamily is used, even for Latin Modern Mono.

Have I missed some documentation, or is there a bug?

Thanks,
Gareth

 no. it's a feature

 \definefontfamily [texgyre] [tt] [TeX Gyre Cursor] [features=none]

Thanks Hans. I’ll try to make that more obvious on the Wiki.

Re: [NTG-context] Problem with PDF bookmarks (outline)

 Hi,
 I think it is a very recent bug. Only the standalone I installed today
 gives the same wrong result that you get.

The PDF index seems broken this week for me too. Last Monday’s build
generated the bookmarks properly, but this week there are none. The
set-ups I’m using are:

\pdfcompresslevel=9
\mainlanguage [en-gb]
\setupinteraction
[
state=start,
title={...},
author={Gareth Jones},
color=black,
style=normal,
]
\setupinteractionscreen [option=bookmark]
\placebookmarks [all]
% Some font stuff trimmed.
\definehead [spec] [title] [style=\tfd, alternative=middle]
\definehead [phase]   [section]   [style=\ss\bfc]
\definehead [feature] [subsection][style=\ss\bfb]
\definehead [changes] [subsubsection] [style=\ss\tfa]
\definedescription [change] [width=3.6cm]
\starttext

Previously all but the spec/title header were bookmarked.

I’ve no idea if this is in any way related to Michał’s problem though.

Thanks,
Gareth

Re: [NTG-context] PDF-Toc text is wrong for new \start… commands

2013-07-16 Thread Gareth Jones
There’s a similar quirk in the title and author attributes of \setupinteraction.

I’ve just got myself into a habit of always having a trailing comma in
[…,…] lists, and haven’t had any problems with that so far.

Re: [NTG-context] Overriding pdfview

2013-06-27 Thread Gareth Jones
 I'll repeat what I said, though: the PDF reader that is (a) most
 likely to be installed, and (b) is most logical / least surprising to
 the user, is: the user's own default PDF viewer.

For what it’s worth, as an end user, I agree.

[NTG-context] Documenting \startchapter etc.

2013-06-20 Thread Gareth Jones
Hi all,

I’m new to ConTeXt, having used LaTeX for the past decade (although
nothing particularly technical). I’m quickly learning that ConTeXt
MkIV is a rapidly moving target, and the documentation has fallen a
way behind…

So, while I’m gradually learning, I’m going to make an effort to
update the Wiki. My first real contribution is the page about the new
MkIV sectioning commands
(http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/startsection and
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Titles#New_MkIV_Sectioning).

Since I’m new to this and Wiki-editing, I’d appreciate it if someone
more knowledgeable could give the pages a quick look over to make sure
I’m not misleading people with false information, and maybe add any
parameters that I’ve missed (or don’t know the meaning of like ‘label’
and ‘marking’).

Cheers, and thanks for ConTeXt – so far I like it a lot better than
LaTeX or any other system I’ve tried!
