Did you run texexec --make --all?

And: what version of ConTeXt are you using?

 ctxtools --contextversion
 or
 texexec --version

Dear Mojca,

I just now run texexec --make --all, and I have run texexec --dvips
filename.tex again, but kpathsea still misses cont-en.fmt.
The version of texexec is 6.2.0, and the version of ConTeXt is
08.08.2007 14:35.

This means that no formats have been generated since you should get a
lengthy TeX run inbetween. Does it make any difference if you move the
whole isoimage to C:\ directly? It might be that the space in path
name is causing problems, but I'm not sure.

I just tried the following (although I don't have any windows around):

 cd /tmp
 mkdir bla bla
 cd bla bla
 ln -s path-to-context mycontext
 cd mycontext
 . setuptex
 texexec --make --all

 and got
ruby: No such file or directory -- /tmp/bla (LoadError)

(Because it's bla bla, not bla.)
But this has failed already one step before yours.

(Besides that: are your folders write-protected? Since mktexlsr
complains about unable to write to ...)

Dear Mojca,

I have moved the whole isoimage to C:\. Directory 'varfonts' does not
exist. That is why mktexlsr cannot open /varfonts/ls-R to write. Problem
continues.

[NTG-context] dvips; hungarumlaut

2007-08-23 Thread Istvan Hollerbach
Hi Evereybody,

I have written a short tex file. Then I have made a dvi file by command:
texexec --dvi proba.tex. A dvi and a ps files have been made. Dvi is ok,
but ps not. I have deleted the ps file. In order to make a ps file I
have inserted command: dvips proba.dvi. I have received an error message:

This is dvips(k) 5.96 Copyright 2005 Radical Eye Software
(www.radicaleye.com)
dvips: ! Couldn't find header file tex.pro.
Note that an absolute path or a relative path with .. are denied in -R2
mode.

and

In document mp-cb-en.pdf on page 73 and in ms-cb-en.pdf on page 95 in
the table hungarumlaut (\H{u}) does not appear correctly. Hungarumlaut
is a doubleacute on o, O, u, and U. Hungarumlaut or doubleacute is used
solely in Hungarian language.

Best regards,
Istvan

[NTG-context] changing typeface

Would somebody explain me in detail, how I can use for example typeface
Times New Roman instead of Computer Modern? Which command to use and
how? I need syntax in detail. Descriptions are obscure for me. I need

Hi,

Ok, I have seen showfont.pdf, and have tried

\definetypeface [times] [rm] [serif] [times] [default] [encoding=ec]
\switchtotypeface [times] [12pt,rm],

and they work. But what are [rm], [encoding=ec] and why is included
[times] twice? I do not understand the syntax. I have seen both
mfonts.pdf and mtexfont.pdf, but I have found nothing, which would form
the basis for start. Of course I have seen cont-enp.pdf too.

[NTG-context] ConTeXt possibilities

Dear Everybody,

My name is Istvan Hollerbach. I am still looking at ConTeXt. Are usable
with ConTeXt only modules found at http://modules.contextgarden.net/, or
which usable are with plain TeX as well? I think of xypic for example.
