[NTG-context] context tarball distribution?

2018-01-15 Thread Martin Fechner

Dear list,

Our slightly paranoid system administrator refuses to pull context via
rsync on our development and production hosts. He says there's no
protection against someone who may tamper with the data on its transfer
like e.g. TLS-protected traffic via https.

So I got the following question from him:

Can ConTeXt be obtained as a tarball or zipfile? Preferably with version
identifiers in the name so he can ensure the parity of the installations
across severeal host.

Greetings, Martin

[NTG-context] Multipass Datasets doesn't work

Hello,

the simple example from the mailing-list doesn't work with the latest

commands.datasetvariable)

It is hard to imagine that there is only one usable font for the
devanagari script. Have you looked at
http://www.wazu.jp/gallery/Fonts_Devanagari.html for example? Ligatures
are an essential feature of devanagari, so I expect there is no font
which doesn't support ligatures.

I'd be interested to see whether you manage to successfully use
devanagari with context. (I vaguely remember a mailing list posting that
devanagari is not supported...?)

Severin

Thank you for the link. We will have a look at this. Firstly we need the
font for a web publication, but maybe a use with context will follow.

[NTG-context] images and linenumbering

2011-11-15 Thread Martin Fechner

Hi all,

I posted this bug some time ago, but it still seems there. The
combination between linenumbering and images isn't working. I use mkiv
with the latest beta.

Look at this short example:

--
\setuplayout[width=120mm]
\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]
\setuplinenumbering[location=outer,method=page]

\starttext

\placefigure[left,4*hang,none]{}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.2\textwidth]}
\startlinenumbering
\input tufte

\stoplinenumbering
\placefigure[right,2*hang,none]{}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.2\textwidth]}
\startlinenumbering[continue]
\input tufte

\stoplinenumbering
\stoptext
--

Is there any workaround to this?

Best regards,

Martin

My lua function doesn't just print the parameter. I have a function like
this:

\startluacode
function pagesetup(page1,page2)
if page1==page2 then
tex.print(page1)
elseif page1+1==page2 then

function
\stopluacode

\starttext
\reference[myref1]{}
\page
\reference[myref2]{}
\ctxlua{\at[myref1],\at[myref2]}
\stoptext

But I find no way that it works with the two references with brackets.
Somewhere else I have an similar problem when I work with counters. The
lua-function there doesn't accept this

\ctxlua{dosomething(\getnumber[mynumber])}

And if you want pure lua, you can do:

\startluacode
function document.pagesetup(ref_one,ref_two)
local one, bug = structures.references.identify(,ref_one)
if bug then
context([unknown reference: %s],ref_one)
return
end
local two, bug = structures.references.identify(,ref_two)
if bug then
context([unknown reference: %s],ref_two)
return
end
structures.references.analyze(one)
structures.references.analyze(two)
local r_one = one.realpage
local r_two = two.realpage
if not r_one or not r_two then
context([unknown pagenumbers])
elseif r_one == r_two then
context([same pagenumbers])
else
context([different pagenumbers])
end
end
\stopluacode

\ctxlua{document.pagesetup(one,two)}
\ctxlua{document.pagesetup(one,two-a)}
\ctxlua{document.pagesetup(two-a,two-b)}

but the reference interface is not yet documented

Thanks, the lua solution works fine. One question: is the same possible
with linereferences as with pagereferences? It's very important for the

[NTG-context] xml and lpath

2011-10-25 Thread Martin Fechner

Hi all,

I'm testing the possibilities of xml and ConTeXt. I was wondering if it
is possible to make an extra setup for every text-element. So it would
be possible to have an setup in a very flexible way. It should be
something like this:

\startbuffer[text]
a
  b
First text.
hiding type=begin/
Second text.
  /b
  Third text.
  hiding type=end/
  Fourth text.
/a
\stopbuffer

\startxmlsetups xml:textsetups
\xmlsetsetup{#1}{a|b}{xml:*}
\xmlsetsetup{#1}{hiding[type='begin']}{xml:hiding:begin}
\xmlsetsetup{#1}{hiding[type='end'}{xml:hiding:end}
\xmlsetsetup{#1}{text()}{xml:text} % Something like this is needed
\stopxmlsetups

\startxmlsetups xml:a
\xmlflush{#1}
\stopxmlsetups

\startxmlsetups xml:b
\xmlflush{#1}
\stopxmlsetups

\startxmlsetups xml:hiding:begin
\enablemode[hiding]
\stopxmlsetups

\startxmlsetups xml:hiding:end
\disablemode[hiding]
\stopxmlsetups

\startxmlsetups xml:text
\startnotmode[hiding]
\xmlflush{#1}
\crlf
\stopnotmode
\stopxmlsetups

So that the result will be:

First text.
Fourth text.

Is something like this possible or is there still another way?

[NTG-context] bug with floats and linenumbering (mkiv) ?

2011-09-28 Thread Martin Fechner

Hi all,

I use mkiv and have a text which combines floats and also has a
linenumbering in a doublesided document. If the float is placed inside a
paragraph the linenumbering jumps to the left or right. But this
happens only on right-hand pages. Here is a short example:

\setuplayout[width=120mm]
\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]
\setuplinenumbering[location=outer,method=page]

\starttext

\startlinenumbering
\placefigure[left,1*hang,none]{}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.2\textwidth]}

\input tufte

\placefigure[right,1*hang,none]{}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.2\textwidth]}

\input tufte
\stoplinenumbering

\stoptext

It seems to me that it is a bug.
