Hi willi, i run on a linux only box with a vanilla SuSE 9.0 texexec --version TeXExec 3.1 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2002 rpm: te_cont-2.0.2-48 pdftex --version pdfTeX (Web2C 7.4.5) 3.14159-1.10b kpathsea version 3.4.5 Copyright (C) 1997-2003 Han The Thanh. rpm: te_pdf-2.0.2-48 xdvi --version xdvik version 22.40v Copyright (C) 1990-2002 Paul Vojta and others. rpm:tetex-2.0.2-48 hope that helps. The xdvi display is more or less useless because i dont see text inside the boxes. BUT i can use the lens to read it :). walter - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Original Message - - - - - - - - - - - - - - From: Willi Egger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [NTG-context] pdf problem Date: 12/03/03 19:04 Hi Walter I tried to reproduce your faulty behaviour on a WindowsXP machine with the TeX Collection 2003 and the latest beta of ConTeXt installed. 1. The resulting pdf does not miss the 1 from \text {DB freigeben ;\\ return 1;\\} 2. The resulting dvi file, viewed with windvi has correct text typeset, but there are no shapes drawn. Interestingly the file you have in the .tar does show the 1 in Acrobat 5 and 6! Windvi is not able to display the charts correctly, the text is typeset to expectation, no shapes are drawn. Do you work on a Linux box? Which version of PDFTeX do you use? Which version of ConTeXt do zou use? [NTG-context] pdf problem
Due to popular demand: 1. i have added the tex files 2. the resulting dvi and pdf for comparison use: texexec --output=text --pdf modem.tex all.tgz Description: application/compressed
[NTG-context] pdf output problem
Hi list, i found some strange effect with the Chart environment. This is part of a larger flowchart. \startFLOWcell \location {1,6} \name {end-auftrag} \shape {5} \text {DB freigeben ;\\ return 1;\\} \stopFLOWcell $ texexec --output=test --pdf modem.tex The resulting pdf file is missing the 1 from \text {DB freigeben ;\\ return 1;} changing 1 into 0 shows a 0. if i produce a dvi instead it works fine. any ideas ? walter ps: dvi has its own problem by writing the text and then filling the area :) ___ ntg-context mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context
Re: [NTG-context] Re: installing context with tetex
Hi patrick, just to explain WHY i got confused. I was looking at knuth.tex as a simple example. An *this* example contains no \startX or \stopX . So i got the impression that contex may not need them. And when you see the examples in "typesetting flow charts" no hint either. It would enought to add \starttext \FLOWchart[grid] \stoptext on page 2. Then you have a (working) example; problem solved. btw: any document describing something should have a complet working example. when you start with something totaly new, you have no ide where to look for an error. a simple typo can cause havoc distracing you from the real problem. regards, wh - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Original Message - - - - - - - - - - - - - - From: Patrick Gundlach <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [NTG-context] Re: installing context with tetex Date: 12/01/03 16:27 Hello Walter, > thats it :) > i was unaware of the \starttext \stoptext :( You should alway start with a simple document and then extend it. > > Hallo hans ? > can you please adjust the "typesetting.." document ? If this is a specialized document: You should do some steps with pure ConTeXt first. Re: [NTG-context] installing context with tetex
hi list, thanks for the hint with te_cont i was looking for *tex* so i never found anything. So, i have installed all missing packets and the sample works fine. Then i tried the first example from "typsetting flow charts". \setupFLOWcharts[...] \startFLOWchart[grid] \stopFLOWchart What is the mentioned "testmode" ? where i can see grid ? the second example is the definition of a cell but i am unable to create any output because: no legal \end found but where ? the examples contain no end (in the sense \begin{} \end{} ) Can i download the examples somewhere ? regards, walter ___ ntg-context mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

Try kpsewhich -progname=context -format='other text files' texexec.pl there is this PERL file. (Besides: If you have a newer teTeX you should already have a /usr/bin/texexec (which is a shell script that basically calls perl `kpsewhich -progname=context -format='other text files' texexec.pl` \ ${1+"$@"} ) Tobias ___ ntg-context mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context
