can hack something with after.
\setupnote
[footnote]
[after={\switchtobodyfont[\noteparameter{bodyfont}]\blank[-line]}]
\setupnotation
[footnote]
[
after={\blank[line]},
indenting={yes,medium

\setuppapersize[A5]
\setupnote[linenote][paragraph=yes]

\startlinenumbering
\dorecurse{100}{text\linenote

\setupnotation[comment][numbercommand=,alternative=serried,distance=.5em,width=broad,compress=yes,compressseparator=]

Dear list,
I have this sample:
\showframe
\setuppapersize[A7]
\setupnotation[footnote][width=broad]
\starttext
\footnote{\input zapf}
\stoptext
I need better spacing in footnotes (to avoid horizontal overflows).
