Gerben, Taco, et al, OK. I have a completely up-to-date TeX installation (GWTeX on Tiger). Thanks for your help. My technique was to "Make Fat" each component, then burn them onto a disk, then replace my I-packages directory contents on my home computer with the packages on the burn disk.
