See isoimage\usr\local\context\tex\setuptex.bat:

REM Installatie van Minimal ConTeXt

REM Instellingen ten behoeve van CONTEXT (TEX) installatie.
REM Deze file moet worden aangeroepen in de file
REM autoexec.bat die te vinden is onder c:\. Voeg aan die

REM

Haven't you noticed/read this? :)

Is there an editor in this zip configured and ready
  to go?

Scite (as was already described, execute cdemo.bat).

If you had instaled Miktex on Windows before you should note that
you might need to take Miktex from your PATH. I had to do it.

No, there's no need to remove MikTeX from PATH. I've put an
pragmatex.bat into path with the content (one line only):

C:\context\misc\context\usr\local\context\tex\setuptex.bat
C:\context\misc\context\usr\local\context\tex

I've also written this on
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Windows_Installation, but my edits need
a revision.

Here is a step by step of how it should go (i.e. what I did with
success):

Thank you, I'm wikifying that.

Oh, great if you do it (then I don't need to). Thanks.

[NTG-context] Stand alone Context editing environment

2006-01-18 Thread David Arnold

All,

At:

http://www.pragma-ade.com/download-1.htm

There is:

http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/install/mswincontext.zip

Can someone explain to me what this is? If it is downloaded and
unzipped, is it ready to go? Is there documentation of this
particular zip? Is there an editor in this zip configured and ready
to go?

Very curious.

is all that I use. Dump it as C:\ConTeXt

add it to your PATH, or add a

CALL setuptex C:\ConTeXt\tex

to you batch files, editor, whatever, before invoking texexec

read the README

and u're good to go. Just need to be clear on which TeX system gets
called, which is what

setuptex

does.

Even when I need LaTeX, I just dump the XemTeX files into this tree.

I hope Hans makes an installer for it, so your grandmother can install it
too!

I'm using it. You just need to install Perl and Ruby.

Take a look at: http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2005/014223.html

the slightly bigger variant is cdwincontext, which has also scite ruby
and perl; if you put that on a windows machine, and run the bat file in
the root path you have a stand alone environment (in projects, this is
what we give authors)

Hans,

I don't see cdwincontext on

http://pragma-ade.com/download-1.htm

Where can I find it?
