what does the LaTex parano do? You should not assume too much LaTeX
knowledge on this list.

tex-file is really saved in utf-8-encoding (I proved this with yudit).
After editing the lines

when i try that on the most recent linux box we have i get:
libatkmm-1.6.so.1 is needed by inkscape-0.41-3mdk
libgc.so.1 is neede

Hm, I got no idea but to upgrade your context distribution. From the
wiki page it seems I tested it on a context from 27th or 30th of

In your TeX file there are three characters in front of your
\starttext command. Which editor did you use to create the
TeX file? The editor, that comes with WinXP doesn't show these
characters. But you open the file with a hex editor you can see
them.

I think, my SciTe 1.63 editor puts these characters into every new file.

since then was when I started using recent ConTeXts and couldn't

There is an apparent bug in the verbatim mechanism. In the following example,
the `A' is typed but the curly brackets are not typed after \head. \type works
as expected in the other two instances. I tried \relax (and a couple of other
hacks) but that does not help. Please advise.
The ConTeXT updater has changed (automatically) to include the latest
ConTeXT beta (Apr 14). This is a completely automatic update, as soon
as a new ConTeXt (stable or beta) is released, the i-Package will be
updated automatically and uploaded to all reporsitories.
